Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Golden Sugar Review

I would be repeating myself for the billionth time if I say yet again that Makeup Revolution is my favourite drugstore brand, but it is. Billionth time. I picked up this blush palette the other week and had so many requests for a review and I am more than happy to oblige!

Let's start with the packaging. As per usual Revolution has it spot on with the sleek look look and resembles my Revolution Ultra 32 Shade Flawless palette but is a little smaller. I wouldn't necessarily travel with this as I do find it quite big for travel and also unnecessary to have so many blushers and bronzers with me. I love the sizes of the individual products as the brush heads fit perfectly within them as I sometimes find some palettes don't make the pots big enough.

Onto the product itself;

The Revolution Ultra Blush Palette comes with a mixture of highlighters, blushers and bronzers. On the first row you start off from left to right with a stunning highlighter. This highlighter is not for the faint hearted and when I say needs a light hand to be applied, I mean it. It's extremely gorgeous and pigmented and perfect for nights out and any Christmas parties coming up. Next is a light pink-toned blush but I would definitely say that this could be used as a highlighter as well. This is my favourite of the blushers as it compliments my skin tone really well. A slightly darker and more purple toned blusher follows and finally a very light shimmer bronzer.

From the bottom row, left to right, there is a much warmer and neutral toned highlighter if you aren't a fan of the glitter-bomb effect. Then is a blusher similiar to the above but a lot lighter and less pigmented in pink-tones if you are looking for a more subtle blush. The one that caught my eye the most is the baked bronzer. I can definitely see this working as an eyeshadow as well as a bronzer because it has the most stunning ripple of copper through it. Lastly is a matte bronzer perfect for contouring and what I love about it is that it doesn't appear muddy on the face at all either.

As you can see from the swatches below, some of the lighter shades don't swatch as pigmented as you would think, but I found that when I applied them with a brush, they showed up a lot more. The wear on the product is really impressive. I used the highlighter top left in the palette below (very left swatch) and you could still notice it later. I even used it under my brow bone for highlight which worked wonderfully.

As I said before the baked bronzer bottom row on the far left, (second to the right on the swatch) is stunning. It's going to take me some time to figure out how to perfect it as a bronzer but it really works wonders as an eyeshadow. We love a bit of multi-purpose palettes don't we? I've been using the matte bronzer to contour and I have to say it's very blendable and has a great staying powder and doesn't look chalky on the skin either. I'm still a  little apprehensive on the shimmer bronzer on the top row on the very right ( second to the right on the swatch) as I feel this would be better suited on my skin with a tan in the summer time for a more"sun-kissed" effect, rather than generally making my skin look less 2 dimensional.

I would love to know if any of you have picked up any of Makeup Revolutions newest palettes and if so, what have your thoughts been on them! I'm so impressed with their brand and considering this was £6, I can't really fault it. I think it's going to take some time to get used to blending and using these colours in an everyday look, but I'm sure I will get there!
