Benecos review*

Benecos is a cosmetic brand that I hadn't heard of until I received a lovely email from their PR team. Benecos philosophy is to produce high quality, organic, animal-cruelty free natural cosmetics with many of them even being Vegan friendly. Although I don't only buy organic free/vegan products, I do know some of my readers do, and that there are limited amount of companies that cater towards them. They are on the PeTA positive list for animal free testing cosmetics too. Although a German brand, they do sell their products in a wide range of organic Supermarkets and online - making sure to be paraffin and silicone free.

They very kindly sent along four products for me to test and review and after giving them some love I'm here to tell you what I think -

Benecos Eyeshadow Base - Prime Fine (Vegan) *

The first product I tried was the eyeshadow primer, a department that I haven't really delved that much into. I've only really used the Urban Decay eyeshadow primers (and they were only the free sample) so was really interested to see what this one would be like. I was actually very impressed with the eyeshadow primer, it has a slight shimmery nude tint which is really ideal if you are using it for any makeup look, even if you want to just use it to make your eyeliner have a longer staying powder.  I have to say there is a specific scent to the product one which I can't put my finger on but this may be because of different ingredients being used than the ones I'm used to! I found that this has quite a sticky consistency when applying it, but with that it means that my eyeshadow and eyeliner lasts a lot better than without any primer and doesn't hinder the pigmentation.

Benecos Duo Eyeshadow Fruits (Vegan)*

Along with the eye primer I was sent along the eyeshadow duo in fruits which is a combination of a light lilac pink along with a much darker burnt purple/gray shade. Cooler toned eyeshadows aren't usually my go-to as I find them a little bit harsh on my skin tone and stay clear from black smokey eyes a lot of the time and opt for more neutral nudey/brown shades. Although, looking at Benecos' catologue they do have a different array of different shades, however still mainly cooler toned colours. I would say the lighter shade was a lot creamier in consistency than the darker shade, but both blend pretty easily onto the lid and with the primer had a staying power of all day and didn't crease which is optimum importance for eyeshadows I think!

Natural Lipstick in Marry Me *

This lipstick colour isn't one that I would generally pick up in the shop if I was walking past it, mainly because I think the sheen to it reminds me a lot like Mac cosmetics 'Frost' collection. However, when I applied this to my lips it was a lot less 'frosty' pigmented than I thought it would be and is more of a moisturizing brightening lipstick. I do think this shade it would be better suited for someone a bit older but there are 10 different shades to chose from also including some lovely nude shades. Although there isn't such an intense sweet fragrance like some lipstick products such as Rimmel's, this one is a little more subtle and has a great staying power and I can imagine being a lovely 'everyday' quick lippy to apply.

Natural Lip Liner in Red! *

Finally they sent along this gorgeous dark red lip liner. I personally couldn't fault this lip liner at all. It's creamy and is perfect as a liner to prevent bleeding but also to apply all over your lips for a deep red lip colour. I find that these liners aren't scratchy at all and as you can tell from the swatch below, creamy and very pigmented! I will definitely be using this as a lip liner for future red lippies!

Left to Right: Red Lipliner, Fruit Duo Eyeshadows, Marry Me Lipstick
Overall I'm impressed with Benecos products. The fact that they are organic and some even Vegan is a plus for those trying to find a new alternative brand. They are very price friendly which isn't easy to find in the organic beauty world and can be purchased here; http://www.pravera.co.uk/benecos-natural-beauty

I would love to know your thoughts on organic products, if you are a user of solely vegan/organic/animal cruelty free etc products and also if you have heard of Benecos before or any other brands similar to them!

    1. That's amazing! I really admire that. I think it's horrendous that in the 21st century some brands are still testing! Xx
