Products I Won't Be Repurchasing

Eeek. This is a post I've refrained from doing for a while, mostly because I don't like being a negative nelly, but hey, we all know how overly honest I am, and there are a few products here I want to share with you that I will NOT be repurchasing.

I feel as if this is going to cause an uproar as everyone I know loves this foundation. There are three main flaws with this foundation that just make me meh, well no a fan. Firstly, the colour. It is so off my skin-tone it looks ridiculously pasty, but the next shade up was far too dark. This in itself, yes, fair, my problem but meh. Logical as always Caroline. I've tried applying this foundation with every brush, blender, hands tool etc etc possible, but this foundation highlights every single pore on my face. I don't usually have issues with my pores but jeez this foundation just sinks into them and highlights them. Lastly the foundation clings onto every single dry match on my face as well, not a good look so for me, this will be a no-repurchase!

I remember picking up this product what seems like an age ago, well another "October" purchase here. As my readers know I am a lushaholic and have never been one to talk badly about their products, but sadly this toner just doesn't work for me. Although it had been working for a couple of weeks originally, I noticed that my skin hasn't been in favour of the product at all. I don't know what it is in the ingredients but this toner makes me break out! Although it doesn't cause lots of spots, it does bring out on my forehead one of those really bad underlining spots. I know so many people love this toner and I can see why, as it really did take off that "extra dirt" still left on my skin, but unfortunately it's been gathering dust literally look at the photo on my shelf for a long while now.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque

This is a product I've quite often mentioned as a lip product I won't be repurchasing. In all honesty, I don't know why I've held onto it. The product is so patchy and more annoyingly, never seems to dry! I've tried the whole blotting etc but this product just doesn't seem to stay on! The pigmentation is poor and with the patchiness, I think for £8.99 you can find much more pigmented and lasting lip products in the drugstore. I really love Bourjois products but this is one I wont be repurchasing.

Superdrug Powder Brush

I was on the search for a new bronzing brush for quite a while but since being a little broke and stingy, I thought I would try out the Superdrug own brand brushes. My verdict: don't bother. I would much rather save up for a little while longer to buy a brush which doesn't apply my bronzer in a patchy manner. The bristles are stiff and you can just tell that they are worth £2.50. You can tell from how un-soft the bristles are in comparison to Real Techniques brushes, that they aren't worth it. Personally, I won't be repurchasing any of the other Superdrug owned brushes anymore.

So there we have it...a couple of products that I will not be repurchasing. It feels odd to have a post that is mostly negative but these are products I've been meaning to share for quite a while now! As a disclaimer, because when does a negative blog post not have one? We have to remember everyone's skin type and makeup preference is different! Therefore although a particular toner or foundation may not work for me, they may be someone else's holy grail! I would love to know your thoughts on any recent disappointing products (leave your links below!) or if you've had any good/bad experiences with the above products!

  5. It's so nice to see someone else who didn't fall in love with the L'Oreal True Match foundation, I never found it to work for from first use and actually ended up throwing it away.

  7. I've got the Eau Roma toner too and I've just found it a bit of a nothing product! Just hasn't really done anything for me so I won't be repurchasing it either xD It smells soothing though because of the lavender :)

  9. I love these types of posts! I'm glad I never tried to L'Oreal True Match, I have skin that is on the drier side and I can't stand products that cling to my dry patches.

  10. I feel the same about the Lush toner water. Initially, I loved it, but after a few months it wasn't working for me anymore.

  11. Fab post lovely, I actually love reading about when people dislike a product haha. I had been tempted to try the Aqua Laque’s as I love the Rouge Edition Velvet’s but such a shame that the formula doesn’t stay put :(
