Brand in the Spotlight: KIKO MILANO

Percassi founded the Italian brand KIKO Milano in 1997, using the motto "Be What You Want to Be." to define the their vision of beauty, uniqueness and range of professional makeup - I couldn't agree more. I was introduced to KIKO Milano by my mum a couple of years ago, for Christmas she bought me one of their eyeliners and although the colour was a little...bold she doesn't like that I wear a lot of black over the course of the year, I've been gathering a few more pieces from the brand.

As far as I know KIKO isn't available in every country, but lucky for me it is in both the UK and in Switzerland which means I can always get my hands on it, especially in my local shopping centre yay Guildford! If you're someone just starting out in makeup, I would really recommend KIKO as the shop assistance are always so lovely and helpful! What I love about KIKO is the fact that it's a really high-quality budget friendly brand. I mean guaranteed it's not that budget friendly compared to let's say Wet 'n Wild or Primark beauty, but regardless, for the quality and the fact that they have sales very often, it's a good'n.

The first products I ever picked up from the brand were from their Rebel Romantic collection. Every now and again they release a collection and the Rebel Romantic one, laced with rose gold definitely caught my eye. Rather than doing it in collection format, I thought I would do it most easily through categories. I've tried two skincare products from KIKO, the Rebel Romantic The Glowing Potion Perfecting Serum (unfortunately not available anymore and has been all used up *not pictured*) and the KIKO Skin Tone Corrector Primer and personally, I don't think they live up to the hype. I mean don't get me wrong, the skincare products are good, but I don't think they really wowed me, not exactly life changing. As I am someone with quite sensitive skin which is very temperamental, this may just be my skin that hasn't fallen in love with KIKO's skincare.

However, I have fallen in love with their eye products. I own a total of four of the KIKO Long Lasting Eyeshadow Sticks, what I would happily say are a dupe for the By Terry Ombre sticks. They are creamy, pigmented and the longevity is incredible. As if these aren't beautiful enough, I picked up the Long-Lasting Wet & Dry Use Eyeshadow. With it's sleek packaging, and heavily pigmented formula, I would say the KIKO eye-product range is my favourite of them all. Lastly from the eye product range I own one of the Cream Crush Lasting Eyeshadows. My only beef with this product is how small the little pot is, it's quite hard to get the product out - but other than that, creamy, buttery, pigmented and just darn beautiful - as per all of KIKO's eye products!

When it comes to lip products, I was never one for lip liners. Seriously, I was like lol, we need to line our lips now? however when I saw the shades 01 and 06 from the Rebel Romantic range I knew I had to have them. I love these as they really do stop my lipsticks from bleeding and aren't drying at all. I have to say what shocks me the most about KIKO is definitely how creamy all the products are.

I hope you enjoyed the KIKO brand in the spotlight post, I hope to continue many of these in the future! Let me know if you have tried KIKO and what some of your favourite products are!

  9. I loooove Kiko Eyeshadows and lip liners! Not the biggest fan of their face makeup but I definitely want to try more. I've heard so many good things about the wet eyeshadow so I might have to pop into my local store and pick one up! ;)

    1. I have to agree on their face makeup, I tried swatching a couple of their bronzers and foundations but wasn't the biggest fan either - though they do have a new collection of makeup out so maybe this one will be a bit more promising xx

  10. I don't understand why this brand doesn't become international and available everywhere. I want to try many things but in Australia you can't get it.

  11. Us Canadian can't get Kiko because they only ship to US but not here, sigh. I'm dying to get my hands on their eyeshadow sticks ever since watching Lisa Eldridge using them. This is a great review on the brand, Caroline!
