Sporting The "I Promise I'm Not Hungover" Look

As a University student going out is inevitable, it's pretty much a way of life here. Although I always manage to make it to my lectures the next day yup, I'm a goodie-two shoes there's no doubt that I probably don't look my most fabulous when hungover. Let's just set the scene here; it's 8am, you have a 9am lecture, you're not quite sure how that cheesy chip box got on your bedside table and your sporting some quite horrendous panda eyes because you could't find your makeup wipes. Probably because you used them to clear up the vodka cranberry your friend spilled on your desk. Dammit why did we predrink in my room?!

There are a few products that are pretty much an essential to covering up that tired-sorry looking face.

Without a doubt the first thing I notice is how dehydrated my skin tends to be the next day after drinking. The First Aid Beauty Repair Moisturizing cream has literally been a complete life saver when it comes to my dehydrated hangover ridden face. It's great for sensitive skin and really locks in the moisture - cannot recommend this product enough!

Without a doubt dancing till 3-4am has made your eyes look a little haggered and as if you've stepped out of a scene from The Walking Dead. I present to you, the only eye cream that hasn't given me an allergic reaction! I was a little apprehensive when I first started using this product as I haven't had the best of luck when it comes to eye creams, but seriously guys, this product reduces puffiness and under-eye dark circles. As it's also a primer, it means that your concealer sits under your eyes a lot more smoothly. I've been loving the metal application tip as it makes the cream so cold and refreshing!

Concealer is something I've been trying to use less of, but hangover days call for basically an entire tube to be used. The collection lasting perfection is a cult favourite in the beauty blogging world. Considering it's a drugstore product, (aka best price ever) it does an amazing job and not only hiding those dark under-eye circles with full coverage, but also brightening them making you look that bit more awake.

Can you tell I'm really stressing about how tired my eyes look when hungover? A palette which is practically my go-to is this drugstore beauty from Wet 'n Wild. Brightening eyeshadows are my go to and a little sheen goes a long way when it comes to making you look more awake. I tend to usually skip the eyeliner and quickly blend the brightest colours I own onto the lid, solid beauty blogging work right there.

All about that hydration here - my lips are always the first to suffer when I go out drinking so I always ensure to have about 40 lip balms in my purse when heading out hungover. The one that really works and I mean really really really works is Blistex , I swear it's like actually medicinal. Regardless this stuff saves me and I cling onto it for dear life when I'm out.

So there we have it 5 of my must-haves for my "I promise I'm Not Hungover" Look. Coffee, ice cold water, burger, ibuprofen and you're ready to go! Let me know in the comments what your hangover-skincare/makeup essentials are!

  3. Concealer makes the biggest difference. I have the misfortune of looking hungover and dead in spite of not actually drinking and having a whale of time but simply being a sleep-deprived wreck (oh uni how you ruined me). If I skip concealer, people often comment on how tired I look or miserable (hello, rude??) so this extra minute to swipe some of Collection Lasting Perfection under my eyes and a bit of shimmery gold shadow on my lids makes an impressive difference. Great post, lovely products . I am so excited that Wet n Wild are going to be available in the UK through Amazon next month. This eyeshadow palette and their highlighters will be the first thing I choose xxx

    1. Hahah! Don't worry I totally get you! University has aged me by at least 4 extra years, I can barely manage on just 8 hours sleep and look like a total wreck! I know I'm so excited, my bank account will not be thanking Amazon though! xx

  11. Wet N Wild eye shadows never get enough credit for how pigmented and creamy they are. They are a wonderful drugstore gem. There natural palette was my first eyeshadow palette that I ever purchased and I can honestly say over the years I've gone through a couple of them. Great post!
