Spring Nail Polishes

I know right. How many more Spring inspired blog posts can you do Caroline. You've done Essentials, Lips, Food and now Nails? Promise after this I'm done. Actually wait, no promises... I have now stepped away from my dark Autumnal polishes and I bring you...colour! I know shocking. I am one of those people who wears black. A lot of black. Therefore I feel as if I compensate a lot with my incredible bright and light polishes once I hit Spring/Summer time!

Although a polish that needs to be replace (why does it smell of like...onion? Definitely a tad old..) it is still a colour I adore. A dusky pale blue polish that to me, looks elegant without being too garish of a bright colour. I love the Speedy Quick Dry formula of Barry M as I am one of those impatient people who dries their nails and then thinks its perfectly acceptable to strip the bed 2 seconds later. You'll notice that a lot of my nail polishes are drugstore, mainly because even still, nail polish can be expensive and could never justify spending £20 on a polish!

Barry M 'Eat My Dust' (Wearing ElegantTouch Don't Be Sheepish)

A bit brighter than Eat My Dust is the Blueberry Hi-Shine polish. One of my mum's least favourite polishes (as she likes to remind me everytime I wear it) it's a bright and colourful shade perfect for the Spring and Summer months. I adore this colour as I tend to really branch into pinks a lot more but think this shade looks nice on both short and long nails.

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry - In A Heart Beat

Ah being perfectly honest here, In a Heart Beat and Hoopla are very similiar to each other....infact I would basically call it a dupe for Hoopla with only being the tinsy tiniest bit more pastel toned(and at a much more reasonable cost). I actually prefer this one to Hoopla a little more as it is very pigmented can nail varnish be pigmented? Is that the right word? and only requires max two coats.

Ciaté - Hoopla

I actually didn't buy this polish and would probably never have as I know they are quite pricey polishes (at £9 usually...) but actually picked this up alongside the In Style Magazine last month. Don't get me wrong, the bottle is stunning, I mean #PackagingGoals or what? I have to say I love this colour when In A Heart Beat seems a bit too youthful not the right word but didn't want to put "childish" and looking for a more sophisticated peach toned colour.

Essie - Roarrrange

Talk about bright polishes. I don't think I've ever owned an orange nailpolish...ever.... What I love about this polish is the fact that it isn't one that just screams out "Halloween" which is why I tend to stay clear from then. As a much more brighter and more coral-toned shade, it makes for the perfect polish. I love wearing this when I have a bit of a tan otherwise it can wash me out and with a plain white outfit for a pop of colour.

Essie - Ruffles and Feathers

Another bright polish is this gorgeous 'Peacock Tail' inspired shade. Although I do think this can be worn in the winter time, To me I don't really see it as that bright of a blue/green polish when applied, but more of just a plain green shade, which is fine but in the bottle it seems a little deceptive!

Essie - Haut in the Heat

Haut in the Heat and Watermelon are another two shades that may seem identical when in the bottle and even more so when you apply them. But if you apply them side by side you can see that Haut in the Heat is this deep fuchsia pink with more of a red undertone. This is my usual go-to nail colour along with Watermelon on my toes as I like a darker colour on them!

Essie - Watermelon

Watermelon, although may not seem like it, is a bit lighter and more of a coral-based pink. It's a shade that, as you can see from the bottle, is very much loved on both my nails and toes. I adore my pinks in the summer months and thing this colour will be one that I will continue on purchasing rather than Haut in the Heat!

    1. I know what you mean! I went through a phase of only having shellac nails, but unfortunately after realising I couldn't afford them, I had to go back! Can always use them on the toes! Unless of course those are gel too! xx

  5. I am so wary about wearing spring shades on my nails! I think it's because I am pale but with a slight olive tinge to my skintone so I find that so many brighter shades just don't look right on me! Forever sticking to my autumn plums and steel grey nail shades!! xx
