Brand in the Spotlight: Wet 'n Wild

I'll be perfectly honest. I did not think I would get round to writing this blog post. As my last blog post says, I've started a new job and did not plan ahead for this week. The sun had set, I'm a bit of a sweaty mess from commuting and I'm exhausted. Nonetheless, I'm here at 9:30pm, hoping you'll still give this blog post a little bit of love and a read. Wet 'n Wild Beauty is a very budget friendly, cruelty free, and number one best value brand in America. Ah yes, that's the small glitch in this brand. Wet 'n Wild is yet to make it over here in the UK, only available on amazon (and sometimes the prices do NOT match up). Weirdly, this brand is available in Switzerland as well (which never happens) so that's pretty much where I've gotten my hands on it! But bare with me guys, trust me this is a brand you'll want to keep your eyes on if you make a trip to the States soon or if it manages to cross the pond and end up in Boots.

The first products which are very well known and recognised as being amazingly pigmented and creamy are the eyeshadows. Although I only have two; 'Silent Treatment' and 'Walking on Eggshells' I can seriously not fault these palettes. Apart from yes, the crappy packaging. The packaging is cheap, and hell is it hard to photograph cheap packaging well am I right? Thank god for marble flatlay sheets. As you can see, Walking on Eggshells is my most used, and definitely the one that receives the most love. The trio palettes contain a "Eyelid", "Crease" and "Highlighter" shade, all indented in the shadows themselves when they are new. The highlighter is seriously my favourite brow bone highlighter of all time. It doesn't matter if I'm using a Too Faced or a Naked palette, I will always go and use this highlighter shade. Now I'm not much of a cool-tone eyeshadow kind of person, I like to stick with my warm neutral brown shades, but every now and again you need to hack a black smokey eye and these colours are gorgeous. You can see in the swatches that they are beautifully pigmented and applying them across the lid is a dream. I would always suggest wearing a primer regardless of what eyeshadow you use, but with these, yes they do crease, but not until you've worn them for a good 8-9 hours, which by then, let's be honest, most of your foundation has come off anyways.

Left to Right: 'Walking on Eggshells' Trio & 'Silent Treatment' Trio
I then picked up the Eyeshadow Kit 'Ash Brown'. Now the eyeshadow kit, it seriously ugly. I mean I'm not being harsh here, but can you imagine my frustration that this thing does not make a pretty flatlay? I picked this up a while ago and did a little comparison between this and the No7 eyebrow kit which you can read about here, so I won't go into too much depth, plus I hadn't mangled it half to death, so it looks much better in those photos. Now I have to say, personally I find eyebrow kits that come with two shades really dumb, because I know I'm never going to use that super dark shade, but man is that brown shade perfect for me. I don't use the wax, I've tried, so I pretty much just use an angled Zoeva brush to pick up the product. My eyebrows last the entire day and it doesn't crumble and works well with other brow mascara products too.

Lipstick wise Wet 'n Wild I own the colour 'Rose-Bud' which appeared in a favourites post not too long ago. There are some gorgeous shades in their range, "Bare it all" is a pinterest hack favourite for being a cruelty-free/cheap-as-hell dupe for Mac Velvet Teddy. I would say they are long-lasting, considering they are a drugstore lipstick. Rose-bud can stay on me for around 4-5 hours without needing a top up, but that may be because of the matte finish. They do pull, when you apply, but the overall finish is creamy and incredible.

I couldn't finish this little collection post without mentioning this Megalast Nail Polish 'Undercover'. My god is this the only nailpolish I ever seem to wear. My nails are so useless, Essie (chips), Barry M (chips, unless it's glitter duh) and OPI (chips like hell). The only formula that ever seems to work on me is Maybelline and Wet 'n Wild. I am seriously going to do a huge haul of these because they dry really quickly, they aren't streaky and the application brush is wide and actually works for a change!

There is a lot more that I want to try from Wet 'n Wild, for example a bajillion shades of their lipsticks, but also their famous "Comfort Zone" palette and their recent White/Pink makeup brush collection, which is raved about by youtuber KathleenLights. I would love to know if you've tried out any Wet 'n Wild products, what your thoughts are and give me any other suggestions on their products!

    1. I hope so too, I wish a lot more of the US brands were starting to become available in the UK like colorpop and wet 'n wild! It's not fair!!! xx

  2. I'm also from e UK, and I love Wet n Wild, I have a few eyeshadow palettes from them including Silent Treatment. I would definitely recommend the eyeshadow Palette, Comfort Zone, the pigmentation is superb for drugstore. I also have one of their bronzers in Reserve Your Cabana, which is too light as a bronzer and mainly for porcelain skin tones. But works exceptionally well as a day time highlighter or an all over glow. :) xx

    1. Comfort Zone has been on my list forever, I keep eyeing it up but I always get so drawn to lip and nail products immediately! We don't have that big of a selection in Switzerland but have popped that on my wishlist! As I'm quite pale this sounds like a total dream! xx

  3. I love alot of Wet N Wild products. Silent Treatment is my go to for a quick eye and Rosebud is such a pretty color. I am fortunate enough to live in the US and have access to the full brand and I also love their highlighters and gel liner! Great post!

  4. I should try the Wet n Wild nail polishes because as cute as Essie is, it chips easily and it's so hard to apply, I don't like the brush. OPI is easy for me to apply though. I love Revlon's nail polish too! Wet n Wild has amazing lipsticks that are as good as the high end ones.

  7. Haha! Coincidentally, I posted about Wet n Wild today too! LOL! I agree that it's a great cruelty free brand and very budget friendly too. I adore their Comfort Zone palette, nail polish and lipsticks. Recently they came out with LE highlighters which are some of the best in the market (from what I read) but they are sold out everywhere in the US and I have yet to see them in Canada. :-(

  17. Wet N Wild definitely need to be in Boots already - they actually have surprisingly good products. I was going to go for Walking on Eggshells but plumped for Comfort Zone instead - got seduced by that duochrome shade! I want that lip and nail combo though asap, what a gorgeous, summery pink. Thanks for sharing lovely, such pretty photos as always
