Haul Update

Sorry for the late running of this post everyone! I've had an extremely busy couple of days at work and am working this weekend so my schedule is a little all over the place. Anyways....I love reading haul posts, but what I love more are updates, nothing better than someone either finding a holy grail or slagging off the fact that they spent a load of money and hate the product. Bants. So I've hauled a couple of bits and bobs over the past month I would say and have had a good amount of time to try them out, test the waters and decide whether or not I'm impressed.

Firstly I picked up a couple of bits from The Body Shop a while ago during their 342 promotion. Now I've already talked about how much I love the chamomile cleanser in my June favourites post her so I won't bang on about that. But instead will talk about the two other products I picked up. Least to say, I'm unfortunately dissapointed in these. I picked up the Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Sleeping Mask thinking of the excitement of trying my first over night mask. Unfortunately I haven't actually noticed any difference since using this product. I only use it max twice a week, and I don't know if maybe it just ends up all over my pillow rather than sinking into my face, but it's just really not that great. Perhaps this is fine for those who have you know normal/dry skin, but for the flakey dry sensitive skin girls, meh. Another disappointing product is the Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet. I thought perhaps that I would love how light this product and that it really caters towards sensitive skin. Personally, like the overnight mask, I just didn't see a massive improvement in my skin - perhaps I need something just that little bit stronger and more hydrating.

I picked up a couple of shower bits from Cowshed and I just wanted to share with you my disappointment because the Udderly Gorgeous Bath & Shower Gel does not lather. And for £16, that's kind of all you want shower gel to do. Now this is quite an oil based shower gel, rather than well...a gel or cream, so I kind of understand why it doesn't lather as much. The only way I can get it to mildly lather is using a loofah, which I'm not particularly a fan of using anyways. To be honest, I'm not particularly a fan of the scent either. I think for me when it comes to shower products, because I have such temperamental skin with all the dryness etc, I really like something a bit more creamier.

Onto some products I have been loving! Firstly is the Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette 'Coral Glow' . I was really excited to try this palette and I can confirm I do love it! I know that a lot of people weren't too fussed about the highlighter in this trio, but for me, if you're someone who doesn't want the whole glitter-ball shining bright effect, but something a lot more subtle, this is a really nice warm toned highlighter. I love using it under my brow bone as well as a white-based brow highlighter can seem a bit too intense. The blush is stunning, and although a little powdery, if you're using a high-quality enough brush, you get an effortless blendable Summer perfect blush! The contour shade for me is just as good, easy to blend and not too muddy of a shade but not too orange either! Much impressed.

Then comes a product I'm not quite sure about. I was so so excited to pick up the Blushing Hearts Blusher 'Peachy Pink Kisses' as I had been searching for it EVERYWHERE. When I first swatched this I was a little apprehensive that I could use this solely as a blush as it has a lot of highlighter qualities, like damn, that is glowy! And my apprehensiveness grew when I applied this actually onto my cheeks. However, I've now decided to wear it like this; apply onto cheeks and brush upwards towards temple and then add Clinique Colour Pop in 'Peach Pop' on top. It gives then this extra glow to a normal everyday blush, which looks great when sporting a neutral eye look!

Lastly in my haul update is the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. Although I never actually hauled this on the blog I picked it up a couple of weeks ago because I needed a pressed powder to keep in my handbag to re-powder the London-Commute-Grease mess that ends up on my face around 5pm. I can't believe that I've forgotten about this product for so long! This was my staple powder for years and then I started using my Vichy lose powder one, but I just love that I can take this on the go with me! I'm someone who could never get away with wearing foundation without powder, which is odd, even though I have dry skin, it has to be set! Regardless!

So there we have it, an update on some of the goodies I've picked up recently! Let me know if you'd like me to keep doing haul updates and let me know what you've picked up recently that you've been disappointing by, or surprised by!

  1. Is the Blushing Hearts Blusher 'Peachy Pink Kisses' meant to be a dupe for the Too Faced blushes? It really looks like them - beautiful!

    1. I think looks-wise it definitely is supposed to. As far as I know, the Too Faced ones are a bit more "blush" than blush and highlighter in one, so they probably aren't that close to being a dupe - I've never tried the Too Faced ones, only swatched them! xx

  13. How disappointing about the Body Shop bits. I wasn't a fan of Sorbet either, It wasn't hydrating enough for me. I haven't had much luck with affordable over night moisture masks so I'll definitely be steering clear of that one. The Pixi one however, is amazing! You definitely check that one, I notice a huge difference in my skin after using it! xx
