Untouched This Summer

I try and not make my makeup collection too seasonal but it's without a doubt that a couple of my products have taken a back seat this Summer and haven't actually been worn for a good 4 months, the shame! I feel like I definitely own a lot of products that are just quite seasonal and I'm not someone who really does have the time to play around with makeup and different looks as much as I would like! So here is a post in which I try and sneakily ease Autumnal products back into Iridescent Places without actually titling it anything Autumnal. ha. I tricked you. Bet you you're all thinking about hot chocolate, fluffy socks and evenings by the fire place.

A palette that just screams autumn for me. There is just something too Christmas and Autumn for me about this palette. I don't tend to wear very dark/warm shades during the Summer but opt for pinks and champagne tones and therefore this palette has definitely taken a back seat. I guarantee you though, once it hits Autumn (someone let me know when I can start blogging about Autumn again please?) it will be pretty much in every single blog post!

Mac Cosmetics Russian Red

I've attempted to bring out my red lipstick every now and again during the Summer months but red lipstick is hard enough to upkeep let alone when it's 30 degrees outside and half my face makeup has slid off my face. I called this my 'Trust Christmas Red' and I couldn't agree anymore. If I'm going to wear a red lipstick during the Summer months I will go for something that is a little bit more berry toned which totally contradicts what most people may think otherwise I do think I'm going into holiday mode? I also tend to wear much brighter eyeshadows during the Summer and I find that red lipsticks tend to only really work with either a gold or bronzey/brown eye-look.

This was literally my go-to eyeshadow a couple of months back. The most beautiful copper/bronzed single eyeshadow around, I would wear this on nights out or during the day paired with a red lip of course but sadly this is just NOT a Summer colour? I generally think this is one of the eyeshadows that I can only wear from September to February time as otherwise I look as if I'm seasonally confused.

Revolution Ultra Blush Palette 'Golden Sugar'

oh bugger. In June I promised myself that I'd bring back a couple of the products I'd forgotten about and mentioned in this blog post here. For some reason I am still crap at bringing out the forgotten products. This palette seriously needs to get a bit more recognition on the blog. At the moment and especially this Summer I just owned far too many and purchased too many new face products. I recently picked up my Benefit Cheekathon Palette and then I had my Urban Decay new Bronzer and everything else just kind of took a backseat. This isn't even an Autumnal product that I'm trying to stick in here! In fact it is a product that is ideally so perfect for Summer because of how bright and highlighting it is!

Are there any products that you completely abandoned this Summer? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. That Zoeva palette is gorgeous but I can see why you wouldn't use it often in the spring and summer! I'm so ready to start Autumn blogging, the moment I see a leaf change I'm bringing out the golds and reds x

  10. I have this problem! It especially annoys me when I forget to use actual summery products. I only used my Benefit Coralista blush a handful of times because I took it with me on holiday to force myself to use it, and I have an old YSL palette with coral and turquoise shades in it, perfect for summer and I always forget to use it! Now I feel liek I can't wear it anymore because it's too late :'D

    1. Oh god I know!! I even wrote an entire blog post about products I need to use this Summer because they've been forgotten...and guess what...did I use them? No! I just got the benefit cheekathon palette so I will have to be using the coralista blush so I can justify the price I paid for it!! xx
