Beauty Pie makeup is a subscription service which aims to sell high end makeup products by signing up to a £10 a month subscription service. Beauty Pie makeup is sold exclusively on their website in which you can either buy a full priced product, or if you are a member, you are heavily discounted.
Of course, these subscription services are all well and good, if the product themselves are good! The concept is to me, a little odd, as usually you want a variety of different products, from different brands. Although I don't particularly know much about the service, I have been testing out the products themselves and there are a few stand-outs.
Firstly the Great Skin Foundation* caught my eye, but I was so upset to see that I was sent the shade "Light 400 (Buff)" which is so orange I think the shade name is so off! My mum however is seriously tanned all year round and has an orange-undertoned complexion (no offence mum) so I took the product home and we tried it out on her. I have to say, she was really pleased! Although a heavier coverage than she's used to, it really does look like "your skin [or my mum's in this case] but better"
Next is the Beauty Pie Matte Lipstick in "Cowboy Nude"*. Now you can pretty much win me over with a nude lipstick but what really stood out to me is the fact that it's a very creamy formula considering it's a matte lipstick. The price of the lipstick if you aren't a member is extremely pricey in my eyes at £20 (£2.24 if you're a member) and considering it's not an established brand, and to be honest I don't think the packaging screams twenty pounds worth.
The One Powder Wonder* is currently a product I am still kind of getting to grips with. It's a translucent powder which aims to set your makeup in place. Currently my normal Real Techniques powder brush just doesn't seem to be picking up enough of the product, so I think you need a sparse bristled brush. Although what I do love is that the powder doesn't cake up your face at all which is definitely a bonus for those with dry skin!
I'm always so excited about trying a new mascara and the Uber Volume-Boost Mascara is definitely a little different to the formulas I've tried before. It's quite a wet consistency so you do have to be quite careful when applying it. I'm much more of a clumpy mascara kind of person, but if you're into those long spidery lashes, then this is a mascara I would recommend. It holds a curl quite well during the day and doesn't flake either.
Lastly is the beautiful Superglazy Lip Gloss 'Hello Petal" which I have to say I'm completely obsessed with. I adore the formula of this lipgloss and it works so well to pair with their lipsticks. It has a great wear during the day without being horrifically sticky!
So there we have it my first review of Beauty Pie makeup. I definitely think there are some standouts including the lip products and the foundation (so gutted it's not in my shade!). Let me know if subscription boxes are something you're interested in or if you've tried any of Beauty Pie's makeup!
Beauty Pie are a brand I've never heard of but what a cool concept - shame about the foundation, but at least it went to a good home haha!

The lip colour is one of my fave products out of the collection xx
DeleteI've never heard of Beauty Pie before, but it is an interesting concept! I'd love to try subscriptions if I had the money to do so! The lipstick looks like something I'd want to wear, but it is very expensive! :O

I think subscriptions are really difficult to find, sometimes they can be worth it, but sometimes it's a waste of money! xx
DeleteThe concept of this subscription service is so interesting, I think it would be worth it for big beauty enthusiasts and makeup artists! The price difference between the manufacturing cost and the selling price is insane to me, it makes me wonder how much it costs to produce other high-end makeup.

I know I can't believe it but that must be why they can make so much money! I think subscriptions are interesting and sometimes can be a waste of money or worth it! Just difficult to chose between the two xx
DeleteI've heard mixed reviews about this Subscription. It sounds worth looking into though. The lip gloss sounds great xx

Subscriptions are really difficult to get right, although sometimes you do get some great products like the gloss and lipstick! xx
DeleteI saw this on your insta, so had to come check it out. Love the name of the brand, although I hadn’t heard of them before. £20 is a lot for a lippie from a brand that’s not well know, Urban Decay ones are only £15.00 a go.

Aw thank you Hayley! I think so too, if it's well established I think a brand can definitely charge that amount but otherwise it is pricey! xx
DeleteI'm seeing Beauty Pie everywhere haha. The packaging is really nice, though x
