New Christmas Beauty Bits

It's not often that I splurge during the festive season on myself but it seems this year I've definitely gone to town with singing "I want for Christmas is to buy myself nice things". I'm feeling very festive this season (definitely down to the fact that my office is covered in tinsel and Christmas trees) and I think beauty at Christmas time is just so beautiful, glittery and sparkly.

Firstly my flatmate and I went to get our makeup done at mac, and you pay £30, upfront and then you can use that £30 afterwards to purchase products in the store which is amazing! I picked up the Nutcracker Sweet Bronze Pigments and Glitter Kit  as I think there is no better time of the year to buy glitter and pigments than right before Christmas. This comes with 4 pigments (left to right)

Reigning Riches : Copper glitter (Glitter )
Sugar Rush: Pale peach (Pigment)
Stardream: Metallic nude peach (Pigment)
Handsome Prince: Warm bronze (Pigment)

I've swatched these a couple of times but am going to give them a proper play around with at my work Christmas party tomorrow because they are just so beautifully festive! This is the first purchase I've made from Mac from a Christmas collection and although the packaging is a little garish, the products are really impressive.

I won this beautiful Too Faced Gingerbread Cookie Palette in Elizabeth's giveaway and it's absolutely stunning! It comes with 6 eyeshadows and a beautiful bronzer which has a stunning shimmer in it! Not only does this palette actually SMELL like gingerbread, all the shades are totally stunning and right up my street! I always rave on about how I think Too Faced are some of the best eyeshadow formulas I've tried and these are no exception. My favourite shades in the palette are for sure the neutral browns (always): Ginger Cream and Maple Syrup along with the beautiful gold shade in Gingersnap.

Fun fact, the Zoella Hungry Hands hand cream is the first ever Zoella product I've ever purchased. During the winter months I suffer from seriously dry hands and I was in the mood for buying one that was overly festive. I love the scent of gingerbread, and am really loving this hand cream. I can use it once during the day and it really lingers for a long time (until you wash your hands). I also think the packaging is adorable but really want a mini version of this because I do think it's a little big to pop in my handbag!

Lastly new in my festive beauty collection is this new Body Shop Matte Lip Liquid 'Mauritius Dahlia 017' . My flatmate and I are doing mini advents for each other where everyday we put in a little gift and this was in Day 3 of advent! This formula is very similar to the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams and although the colour is a little bit patchier if you line your lips (which I highly recommend doing anyway with dark lips) it sits very comfortably during the day!

Let me know what new Christmas bits you've been treating yourself to this year and if you've purchased any of the above!

  5. I love that Too Faced set, the Eggnog Latte one is my favorite although the Gingerbread one has some gorgeous glitters! I haven't tried any Zoella products yet but I would like to pick up something from her line, a gingerbread scent sounds amazing for this time of year.
