L'oreal True Match Foundation

It's been an absolute age since I've picked up a new drugstore foundation. I kind of became very content with my Rimmel Match Perfection, but after recently developing a cluster of spots on my nose, I started noticing it would begin to become patchy and weird on my nose.

Instead I decided to go and pick up a new foundation and the L'Oreal foundation caught my eye. Originally when I tried the L'Oreal True Match Foundation, it was a different formula and different packaging and I despised it! It would settle into my pores and looked so patchy however I have to say, this new formula is amazing!

I would say this is a medium coverage foundation and in my opinion is best applied with a damp beauty blender/complexion sponge. the consistency is more water based than let's say the Rimmel Match Perfection but then it's a lot dewier which my skin has been needing recently!

This I would say has good staying power, and can sit on my face a couple hours longer than my Match Perfection. Usually when I wear a foundation that begins to fade during the day, it can go seriously patchy around my nose and chin, but this, when it does begin to fade, it actually fades quite nicely onto the skin. For someone with dry skin I would highly recommend it as it doesn't cling onto my dry patches and gives me such a healthy glow.

I don't know what anyone is talking about when they say it's 'glittery' as it definitely doesn't look glittery on my skin or in the bottle at all. My one advise is to go a shade lighter than you expect, because it does oxidise a little bit on my face, not massively, but I do have to ease up on the bronzer now!

One of the great things about this foundation is the shade range, yes L'Oreal! There are 23 shades (hopefully they'll come out with more) which is unique to find in a drugstore foundation.

My one gripe is. I may be allergic to it....which will seriously piss me off if I am. Ever since I purchased this, I've had quite a few allergic reaction rashes gross and now I'm mildly thinking it could be this foundation. Will keep you all up to date *fingers crossed I'm not*

If you're looking for a drugstore foundation make sure to check this one out and if you hated the old formula make sure to try out this new formula as it's definitely a good'n!

  2. I was just writing my review about it yesterday and I'm the exact same:I used to hate this foundation (it just didn't blend into my skin and, instead, it was always sitting on top of it in a weird way) yet the new formulation is really gorgeous and I've been using it a lot lately! You perfectly well describe it, great post!

  4. This sounds so good! I'm glad they've changed the formula for the better and fingers crossed it's not actually this foundation you're allergic to and you find out what it is! Allergies are the worst.

  7. I use this foundation on Sundays for a quick & minimal look and I love it! The colour match is probably one of the best I have for my natural skin tone. I think there are versions with the glitter and some without as I've had one of each, it's more like a shimmer than a glitter though. Lovely photos as well xx

  13. I'm sorry to hear you're allergic to it when the formula seems to be something you enjoy. IA with how this one is better, the previous one made me looks like I'm wearing mask and it's not really flattering.

    1. I'm actually lucky because I don't think it is the foundation that I'm allergic to which is so good!
I'm so glad you felt the same way, the old formula (no offence to Loreal) was just horrific! xx

  15. It's funny because I bought this a while back (I think after the formula change) and I just didn't like it. But I tried it again last week and now I've been loving it, I guess my skin is just reacting to it better now. I must try it on a sponge though!

    1. It's funny how we get like that sometimes with products! I definitely think it's a sponge kind of foundation, even if it is quite water based, mainly because I think it needs a good buffing into! xx

  16. I never tried the previous formula, but I did pick this one up recently - I really like it, especially applied with a damp beauty blender! The only thing that annoys me slightly, is it seems to stick to any dry patches I have on my face which kinda sucks!

    1. Oh no way! I have dry skin but I guess the annoying thing with foundation is that it really does react to people in a different way! Hopefully you can make it work though with your skin! xx

  20. I really want to try the new formula of this foundation. I'm such a foundation junkie it's bordering on insane. I wasn't crazy about the original formula because i found it drying, this new formula intrigues me.

  21. This used to be my absolute favourite foundation but I haven't reached for it in ages in favour of other brands. I still have two bottles I may have to start picking this up again. I loved the old formula but I definitely agree that the new one is better. x

  22. I really loved the formula of this, my only gripe was with the shade, it just turned orange on my skin (and I had the palest shade!) It's such a shame you might be allergic to it! :( xx
