Kylie Cosmetics 'Burgundy Palette'

The Kylie Cosmetics Burgundy Palette is to me, one of my favourites out of her lines. There is just something so warm and inviting about this palette and is a palette with shades I think I can make work throughout the year. The darker warm bronzier shades are perfect for Autumn and Winter but then the orange terracota shade 'Penny' and bright burgundy 'Burgundy' are perfect to wear in the Summer on holiday.

I love every shade and what made chose the Burgundy Palette over the Bronze was the fact that the Bronze had a matte black shade which truth be told I never use in an eyeshadow palette.

The palette comes in the classic Kylie cardboard packaging, which to me doesn't justify the luxury price of 42 USD without customs might I add but regardless is very sleek and makes great for travelling. The pan sizes are actually quite big for an eyeshadow palette which I think is great considering the price and also you do get a fair few in there with 9 shades all together.
What I love about this palette is that it contains matte, satin and metallic finishes and all of the shades can either be worn individually or do actually work all together.

In the palette you have the following shades

Naked (satin finish golden sand)
Beach (matte finish light warm brown)
Penny (matte finish red orange)
LA (metallic finish true copper)
Burgundy (matte finish bright red burgundy)
Dubai (metallic finish burgundy)
Brick (matte finish dirty brick)
NY (metallic finish warm bronze)
Almond (matte finish deep red brown)

I would have to say, surprisingly Naked is my least favourite shade in this palette only because it looks like a very odd golden shade. It's neither bright enough to be champagne coloured or warm enough for it to be gold and I can't really get it to work well with the other shades in the palette however this might just be because I don't like how it suits my skintone.

Other than that, the formulation of  these shades is gorgeous. Although there is a little bit of fall-out they are incredibly pigmented and buttery. Some of the brighter shades like 'Burgundy' and 'LA' take longer to blend out than some of the others, which isn't a huge issue to be honest.

I guess the one gripe to me is with Kylie Cosmetics, is it worth it? I was very fortunate to receive this through work but I don't particularly think that I would pay the customs charges when I know that Makeup Geek have a couple of shades which are very similar in quality and colour. However saying that, if you ARE happy to pay the customs charge and the palette price, then yes I definitely do think it's a beautiful palette to add to your collection. I know I will be taking this away with me on my holidays this year because I'm just dying to play around with it some more!

  3. I think the peachy and burgundy palettes look great, but honestly I don't think I'll ever purchase them just because it's Kylie. But I'm happy for you that you love it.

  16. This palette is really pretty but I agree I'd rather buy shadows which don't have a massive custom charge. I actually don't think Kylie Cosmetics does packaging or quality that well, they seem to have so many errors and broken palettes!

  17. These colours are just to die for! I'm so torn with Kylie Cosmetics though, they just don't sound beyond anything I already have without customer charges. The urge is getting stronger to just bite the bullet it and try it for myself though!

  18. I've seen this palette dotted around the web and LOVE it, the pinky/ burgundy shade in the middle looks so so lovely, but personally, 42 USD is so not worth it for me - I think maybe if it was more accessible in the UK I may give it a try/ be more tempted to buy it, but all these custom charges make it so less appealing! Great post, I'm forever in love with the photos you produce, flawless as always!! xx

  19. These shades are absolutely stunning - I didn't get this though because I already have pretty much identical dupes of all of them in my vast eyeshadow pan collection! A lot of them are indeed from MUG :)
