Bright Spring Pinks

I've always been someone who loves understated, nude and natural lipsticks but ever since I started blogging I've definitely become a bit more adventurous when it comes to lipstick shades. Pink to me always seemed a little scary, thinking it would make me look like a wanna-be-barbie and just a bit "HELLO HERE IS MY FACE" , but I've managed to add to my collection a couple of bright pink lipsticks that I adore wearing in Spring time.

First up is Mac 'Fanfare' my first ever mac lipstick, can you believe it?! This lipstick shade holds a special place in my heart, 'Fanfare' is a warm pink in a cremesheen formula. What I love about this lipstick is that it is perfect for those who want to venture out into brighter pinks without going on a borderline clown mouth. The formula is rich and creamy which I much prefer during the Spring months.

We then have the Wet 'n Wild MegaLast Lipstick 'Rose-Bud. Now Wet 'n Wild is sadly an American brand, which shock we can't get a hold of in the UK and for some reason....you can in Switzerland which is where I picked mine up from. This is a cool-toned rose perfect for an understated pink look, but still bright enough to add more of a 'pop of colour'. These retail for near to nothing at around $2 and the quality, like most of Wet 'n Wild products, is faultless. This too has a very creamy formula and applies effortlessly without too much pull. As you can imagine and see, out of all my lipsticks, the packaging isn't my favourite, but you can't really complain for $2.

Mac 'Speak Louder' was a bit of an impulse buy on my end. I was desperate to try and get hold of  the shade Impassioned, but seeing as it was out-of-stock and I have zero patience, I picked this bright pink instead. It's a shade that isn't too 'in your face' but also not too understated. Although another cremesheen finish, it is incredibly pigmented which I do find can cause a little bleeding so it is best to pair it with a lip liner if possible.

Now onto one of my very bright pink lipsticks. The NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme 'Ibiza' is a bright blue-toned pink lip. Now I usually don't get on quite so well with a bright liquid lipsticks as I find them to drying and leave you with that awful 'lip liner' after 3 hours. However the soft matte lip cremes are almost a mousse texture and I find them so comfortable and they apply with such ease. You also cannot fault the fact that it smells like cake.

Lastly we have the Milani Amore Lip Creme 'Cherish' - now this is what you call a bright lipstick. The Amore Lip Cremes are highly pigmented liquid lipsticks and with one swipe are incredible opaque. Cherish is another blue-toned pink which I would say is just that little bit lighter and brighter than Ibiza. The wear-time on these is incredible, and they are a bugger to try and wipe off to be honest. One thing I would be cautious about is that the colours don't particularly look the same on the website as they do in person, and I think they switch the names around in different countries so definitely do your research shade wise before picking it up!
