bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream

I've always loved much more of a fuller coverage foundation. During the Summer months I have intense freckles and although I know everyone loves them, I personally don't so I do try and cover them up. However since being on holiday this year in Cyprus in the 35 degree heat and the every-now-and-again heatwave in the UK,  I had to accept that there was no way I was going into the with full coverage foundation.

My flatmate has always raved about the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream  and I had never really given much of a thought to bareminerals as a brand really - mainly because some of their stuff is expensive but when there was a sale on at FeelUnique I knew I would have to go pick it up. I actually got myself shade tested at the Covent Garden store and they matched me to 'Bamboo' and then naturally, went online to pick it up for cheaper.

Product Description

"bareMinerals® Complexion Rescue™ Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream is a multi-tasking genius that combines skincare benefits and naturally radiant coverage in one.

The best of a BB, a CC, and a tinted moisturiser... with a 215% increase in skin hydration after just one week,* this is a whole new way to think about makeup."

Now I absolutely love this base - it's so great for those with dry skin as it's essentially a tinted moisturiser and feels so weightless on your skin. With coconut extracts it leaves your skin feeling nourished and replenished. I apply this with a beauty blender or if I'm looking for a bit more coverage as the beauty blender can make it more sheer, I apply it with my Zoeva Rose Golden 104 Buffer Brush. It's got a sort of gel-like formula, which means it applies very smoothly across the skin and doesn't feel too heavy.

What I like about this is that when I apply it over my freckles it makes my skin look all one colour as I have blotchier cheeks. It also don't look as if I'm trying to cover up my freckles so obviously and they still poke through but in a way I actually prefer - the image above is my skin with the product on. Although on holiday I really tried to not wear any makeup at all, in the evenings if we went out for dinner or on a day-to-day basis back in the UK, I now opt for this as it's comfortable and long-lasting in the heat.

What's great is that the product is also silicone, paraben, oil and fragrance free which is great for people like me who have sensitive skin. The product has also won numerous awards and I can totally see why, it's just an all-rounder perfect tinted moisturiser and although it is on the pricier side (but on sale at the moment) to me it's definitely worth it!

  1. I've got an annoying story about this one. I went to purchase it two years ago and the lady shade matched me wrong and then I threw a teen tantrum and my mum took me back and I went into another store and the lady was like, yup, you need a shade lighter. So I ended up buying two bottles in one day! But now what I do is mix the two, its one or should I say, two of my fave bases LOL!

  4. I've used Complexion Rescue for such a long time now! I love it as a day to day foundation, and love that the finish is so natural! I also get a bit of redness around my cheeks and it does a lovely job of evening out my skintone without washing me out. It is expensive, but you need so little to cover the face that it lasts forever anyway! It looks gorgeous on you :)

  5. Your perfect skin makes me want to go out and buy this or the Laura Mercier one! I still have to finish my Smashbox BB Cream though. I had one from Neutrogena, and it was OK.
