Recent Lifestyle Favourites

It's no secret that I'm a massive Harry Potter fan. And when I mean fan. I mean I was a member of the committee for my Universities Harry Potter society. Yup, that cool. My flatmate and I decided it would be a fab idea to have the box set in the flat for all the times I complain and am needy about watching Harry Potter. For me it's a great comfort film so as my box set is back in Switzerland, we went to CEX and picked up for an amazing bargain our own one. We just finished re-watching all of them and I have just re-kindled my love all over again. I'm off to see the play in October and got my mum tickets for the Warner Brothers Tour as well for that weekend so let's just say, I will most likely be re-watching a couple of the films before then anyways.

I don't ever fall out of love with reading, but I just never find the time for it unless I'm on holiday. On holiday I can finish a book in a day, but since going away I haven't even picked one up! I decided that I needed to and my friend recommended reading The One by John Marrs. I'm not even halfway through and have to say it's incredible. I won't ruin much of the story line but essentially it follows the dating world, but to a whole new extreme, finding the love of your life through your DNA. The story follows numerous couples and their experiences so it's fast paced although you still get heavily invested in the characters.

A show that I saw quite a bit about was Atypical on Netflix. I downloaded a couple of episodes to watch on my flight back and I immediately became hooked. The story revolves around 18 year-old Sam who is on the Autism Spectrum and wants to get himself a girlfriend. I think Keir Gilchrist is an amazing actor and you get very invested in the family as it revolves around all of their lives as well.

I wouldn't necessarily say I'm a homebody as I like my nights out but Relaxing Sundays is something I'm starting to get into a routine with. Whether I am nursing a hangover from the night before and literally being a sloth, or going to a gym class, I like to spend my Sundays to myself. I find it really important to take time off before the Monday at work and get the flat and my life in order. I find cleaning therapeutic so I like to do my chores or bake, and then in the evening I make sure I do some pampering. I love lighting candles in the flat to make it cosy and always find doing a face mask and having a bath is the best way to go about it!

  1. I love this, and that candle you have looks great! I like spending Sundays to myself as well, it's so good to have that time to do everything you need to do, and have the pamper time too xx

  3. Lazy Sundays are the best! I usually have to work but I need to take some time to myself to replenish my energy. I wish I had the HP box set, I'm missing a few movies here and there.

  6. Relaxing Sundays I can relate myself to that a lot. However, I noticed if I spend more then 2 hours of doing nothing I feel like my time is being wasted, really need to learn to relax better!

  7. I just watched the first half of the first Harry Potter movie at the weekend after not having seen it for years, and it has made me want to watch them all through again! I was always snobby and preferred the books to the films but now I think they both have their charms.
