My Favourite Makeup Brushes

The right tools are just as important as the makeup itself. A couple of years ago I reckon I owned probably 4 very cheap brushes and wondered why my foundation would be streaky and my blush patchy. Below is a rundown of my all time favourite makeup brushes and what I love to use them for

Spectrum A05 Brush* - When contouring came around and I realised the importance of adding bronzer and dimension to my face, the only brush I will ever reach for is this Spectrum brush. Spectrum are an incredible brand and their vegan-friendly Synthetic bristles are so soft and great quality.

Real Techniques Contour Brush - I know a lot of people use this as a setting brush, but for me I never really got on board with the fan brush for highlighting and instead love this brush to add the glow. It picks up product so amazingly and because it isn't so dense is doesn't leave you with a streak of highlight but is perfect to build up highlight to either create a natural or 'bam' highlight.

Wet 'n Wild Powder Brush - Unfortunately not only the cheapest of al, but the hardest to get ahold of as unfortunately we don't have Wet 'n Wild in the UK. This cost something ridiculous like $3 and I've tried higher end brushes that cost £20 that are of the same quality. This is is so unbelievably soft and I love this brush for when I need a very light dusting of powder because it gives such an even finish.

Zoeva 126 Luxe Cheek Finish - I picked up all my Zoeva brushes as part of the Zoeva Rose Gold Luxury Volume 2  set but you can by them individually. I love my Zoeva brushes, I generally think they are incredible quality and also, it's rose gold. That's all you need to say. Gorgeous. I use this as my blusher brush so it is permanently stained pink. The Zoeva brushes don't shed at all, and are such great quality as I've had these since September 2015 and they are still going.

Zoeva 317 Wing Liner - I only use powder brow products and I know this is meant to be used for wing liner, but it works perfectly for creating a perfect crisp and on fleek brow.

Zoeva 226 Smudger - When I first received this I thought "well what in fresh hell am I going to use this little stubby brush for?", turns out it makes a perfect brow bone highlight.

Zoeva 224 Luxe Smoky Shader - When you need an eyeshadow packer shadow this is the one. I pretty much always use this eyeshadow brush for 'all-over-the-lid' shadows.

Zoeva 228 Luxe Crease - Another brush I actually use for it's true purpose. In my opinion you can never have enough crease brushes. I probably use them the most out of all shadow brushes. I actually need to replace this beauty because it's looking a little worse for wear, but I love the size of the brush because it fits perfectly into your crease and just that little bit more so you can really shade the colour out.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Brush - I am never that person who uses the brushes that comes with your eyeshadow palettes but I actually love my Naked 3 dual ended brush. I don't actually use both sides, just the shadow packer side the paintbrush looking side is weird. This is another brush perfect for applying shadow 'all-over-the-lid'.

Kylie Cosmetics Crease Brush - Unfortunately this brush isn't in stock anymore but it came in a set and I absolutely love this. This one is similar to the Zoeva crease brush but is a bit thinner, so is great if you're looking for a bit more of a defined shading.

Let me know in the comments below what your favourite makeup brushes are and if any of them are in the above list!
