A Colourpop Haul

It's not often I get to do a Colourpop haul (pesky customs fees) so when my flatmate's friends from LA were coming over both of us took the opportunity to buy far more than the necessary. Firstly I wanted to pick up some of the Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadows as I've only ever tried the supershock shadows and was super keen to see if these lived up to the same pigmentation and creaminess.

Snake Eyes - This was a shade I couldn't not put in my basket. Now I know I use "unique shade" to justify every single purchase I make, but this is actually one of those times I mean it. Snake Eyes is a metallic shimmery pink taupe which is amazing to wear on a night out if you're looking for a different alternative to a brown or grey smokey eye. It looks incredible with either a nude brown in the crease, or even a darker grey if you're a fan of cooler toned shadows.

Let me Explain - Guaranteed Let Me Explain and Take it Slow look extremely similar in the pan, Let Me Explain is that perfect shimmer champagne ivory. I've been on the lookout for a shade like this for a while now which works for an everyday look perfect for work. Usually I find that shades like this aren't pigmented or show up on my lids, but as per usual Colourpop's pigmentation does not disappoint.

Take it Slow  - Take it Slow is more on the pinker side of Let Me Explain in the pan, however when applied on my skin they are actually quite similar, therefore if I'm using Take It Slow all over my lids, I'll add Let Me Explain in the inner corners of my eyes for a bit more brightness. Another shade perfect for work and everyday.

I was then gifted the 'Golden State of Mind' Palette which I won't rave on too much about as I did a full review here but all I can say is that this palette is incredible. Although all the shades are shimmery therefore you will have to use it in conjunction with a palette that has some sort of matte, it's great value for money if you're looking to try out the press eyeshadows.

I then picked up three gorgeous lip products, which yes, to the eye, look all the same, however they are all vastly different. Okay mildly different. Firstly I picked up my trust Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip 'Fairy Floss'. I haven't yet run out of my first one but I can't bear the thought of me being unprepared when it does run out. After loving Fairy Floss I wanted to try out another glossy lip so picked up the Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip 'Aquarius'  . My flatmate owns the Aquarius Satin Lip so I knew I was going to love the colour. The glossy lips as you can imagine, don't have the longest staying power, however this has to be my favourite lipgloss formula out there. It's not overly sticky or tacky and just leaves your lips looking fuller.

Then on the lip front I was very kindly gifted the Ultra Matte Liquid Lip 'Beeper'  which is a stunning burnt brown. I own a couple of the liquid mattes and actually really love the formula of them and they are long-lasting. Lastly I picked up the Ultra Satin Liquid Lip 'Echo Park' which has been on my wishlist for ages. The Satin Lips probably have to be my favourite formula that Colourpop do, as they are so comfortable and the longevity considering they aren't matte is surprisingly good. I wanted a lighter peachy nude liquid lipstick for the Spring and Summer time and Echo Park hasn't disappointed. I haven't gotten too much use out of it yet as I think it will look better on my complexion with a tan.

I absolutely love everything I've picked up but of course, let me know in the comments below anything you can recommend I do in my next haul!

  3. Love your picks! Snake Eyes looks like such a beautiful shade. I generally don't even like lip gloss, but I got the Ultra Glossy Lips in 'Aquarius' in a set a while ago and fell in love with it - it's such a perfect everyday shade, with a really nice amount of shine!
