My Valentines/Galentines/Palentines Picks

Happy Valentines/Galentines/Palentines....or just Happy Wednesday everyone! I can't believe it's been a year since I did my last post like this, and funnily enough, I'm spending Valentine's Day this year nearly identical to last years! Emily (my flatmate) and I are going out for dinner together to Prezzo and then of course going to see the new Fifty Shades Freed movie which is basically what we did last year when we had dinner at Bills and then went to see Fifty Shades Darker. What can I say, we like a tradition. Whatever you're doing this Valentines whether it's hanging out with your girlfriends, going out for a romantic dinner, or even just nothing, I've popped a list together of my favourite picks for the day.

If you're just having a chilled night in with your girlfriends or even your boyfriend, I think Valentine's Day is the perfect day to treat and pamper yourself. Of course Roses are the quintessential flower of Valentine's Day, so how can you not use a Rose based face mask, my mask of choice is the Trader Joe's Rose Gel Mask. Don't hate me as unfortunately this is actually from Trade Joe's as part of a trio, but loads of beauty companies have rose based masks like Charlotte Tilbury, Fresh Beauty and Jurlique.

On the topic of chilled nights, if you're going to use a face mask, you may as well go all in and have a relaxing bath, with of course, none other than Lush's Valentine's bath bombs. I picked up a couple of products from the range and hauled them here, but I have to say the Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb is my product of choice, mainly because it just screams Valentine's Day and leaves your bath pretty and pink and full of rose petals.

For Make-Up I have to go to some very pink and pretty products on this day. As I'm going out for dinner I don't mind using more of an intense blush/highlighter combo so the IHeartMakeup 'Peachy Kiss' is my blush topper of choice. This is such a gorgeous product because it works so well on top of numerous blushes - oh and how cute is that heart packaging?! For the lips I'll be using my Marc Jacobs Sheer Gel Lipstick 'Eat Cake' (full review here) which is a very pretty pink nude which is lightweight and comfortable to wear. As I'll be going straight from the office and out for dinner, I contemplated a red lip, but just couldn't be bothered with the upkeep! On the eyes I'm going back to an oldie and a goodie, the Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette as it has the prettiest pink shade in existence called 'Silk Teddy'.

My last pick would have to be flowers. Regardless of whether you buy them for yourself, for a friend or you receive them from a loved one, I don't think you can ever go wrong with buying flowers. I don't ever limit them just to Valentine's Day as I definitely love them in the flat all year round, but they really can lighten and shift the mood for anyone feeling a little bit down on the day!

Let me know what you're doing this Valentine's Day!
