4 Eye Basics

If there is one part of my makeup I like to keep minimal, it would be my eye makeup. I'm definitely not one for bold eyeshadow. Those purples and greens in an eyeshadow palette are always untouched so it's easy for me to really bring it back down to basics with my eye makeup.

Firstly for the eyeshadow I would have to start off with the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise 'Jean'. I've talked about this product endlessly and already know it's going to be in my 2018 yearly favourites. I did a review on the shadow in this post here and I pretty much wear this as a base every. day. without fail. It's that true champagne ivory shade and what I love about the texture is that it's bouncy, but still remains mildly tacky after applying it over your lids, perfect as a primed foundation for your shadow.

Next is Colourpop Press Shadow 'Let Me Explain'. Another product I pretty much use on a regular basis. I was so apprehensive when it came to Colourpop's press shadows and didn't think they would be nearly as good as their supershock ones, but the pigmentation is out of this world, and apply so well on top of the Charlotte Tilbury cream shadow.

I've actually turned to using bronzers for my eyeshadow crease a lot more recently. I find that by using the same bronzer on your eyes as to your face, it really ties in the entire makeup look. I've been using my Mac Sculpting Powder 'Sculpt'  as a bronzer recently and it's also a perfect crease brown to soften up and create depth after using the champagne shimmery shades.

Of course I can't go anywhere without mascara, and my mascara of choice will hands down always be the KIKO Extra Sculpt Volume Mascara. Since purchasing this nearly half a year ago, I haven't used anything since. This just gives me such length, curl and volume all in one. And as we're getting closer to Spring although it didn't seem like it with the snow recently , and hay fever is upon us and this mascara does not budge! This mascara is also actually half price at the moment at KIKO so have just purchased another one for when my current one dries out.

  3. These all look gorgeous. I love me some good basic shades for the eyelid, when you're in a rush but you still want a little colour. I used to use my bronzer as eyeshadow for the crease before, but I seem to always do that in summer, but not in winter. Not sure why :-)

I must check out the Charlotte Tilbury cream shadows, I've seen them everywhere lately!
