Monthly Favourites: April

I can't believe we're already in May and worst of all, I can't believe we're in May and the other day it will like 7 degrees. What is this weather. I'll hands up say I felt a bit like a prized idiot for uploading my Spring/Summer Fashion Faves blog post when it's clearly nowhere near Spring. Alas with another month over, I've collected a few of my favourites from this month including the products that I've actually managed to wear during hay-fever season mascara and eyeliner is a no-go.

Firstly for my base I have completely abandoned all foundations and instead have opted for my very trusted bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream. With all this transitional weather my skin has just not been playing ball and has become so dry. I therefore can't think of anything worse than putting foundation on top of my skin and this has just become a live saver because it's lightweight and as it's a gel formula, also really hydrating. I love the complexion rescue because my freckles have also started to come through from all the sun and putting foundation on top just looks, well really odd! Rather than covering my skin up because thankfully I haven't had a lot of spots more just dry skin it really evens out my skintone instead, gets rid of the redness and looks so natural. I don't see myself using foundation until Winter time!

Of course I've been back to loving my Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow. I've still got two miniatures left so don't need to buy a full sized tube just yet! I love going for the ultimate dewy and glowy complexion during these months and Wonder Glow really helps me achieve that. It sits really well under the complexion rescue and just adds a bit more lift and life to my complexion.

For nails I'm trying to ditch all the dark nails and have been going back to my much loved Essie Spin The Bottle Nail Polish. I've talked about this polish non-stop on this blog including in my 5 Nude Nails For Spring Blog Post  so I won't go on too much about it, but it's such a delicate and feminine peach pink nude that is so perfect for everyday.

I did a massive Sephora Sheet Mask Haul not too long ago. I picked up two Sephora Lotus Face Mask and have already used one and was so impressed by it. It made my skin feel very plump after and also baby soft. Annoyingly the other day I did use a rogue face mask and sadly I think that is what totally dried my skin out, so I'm going to use my last one of these this week to revive my skin. Definitely going to repurchase it!

Although I have been loving my bright lipsticks and my sheer nudes, when I've been going out for dinner or nights out, I've wanted something with a bit more depth to it. My friend got me the Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick 'Backtalk'. This is really familiar to the Colourpop Lumiere liquid lipstick and Lippie Stix, but a touch darker. I actually really like the formula of these liquid lipsticks, they are creamier and softer than the Colourpop Ultra Matte ones and much more comfortable to wear.

Let me know in the comments below what product you've been loving in April and also one thing you're looking forward to in May...any guesses mine is the weather?!

    1. I use the Milani illuminating face powder to set it but only very lightly because I don't like adding too much powder as I love the dewiness it gives my skin! xx
