Athens - Day 2 ☼

"Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second" - Day 2 -15th April 2015, Athens - Greece

9:00am: Now this wasn't just an ordinary tourist day! This happened to also be my boyfriends birthday! To ensure that his birthday was as memorable as possible, and still felt like a birthday even abroad, I made a few decorative adjustments to the hotel room, so sneaky!

9:30am: I don't think I've ever tasted anything so beautiful, rich, creamy and delicious than the greek yoghurt at our hotel. Add a sprinkle of granola and top notch Greek honey, and you've got yourself the best breakfast in the world!

12:30pm: For my boyfriends birthday I booked us a Ali-Hammam Bath experience at a Hammam Bath. The masseuses were incredible, definitely knew what they were doing and we felt pampered to the brim. After the massages we were able to sit in the lounge, enjoy complimentary delights (which were beautiful!) and tea.

15:00pm: After feeling VERY pampered indeed, we visited the Panathenaic stadium. This was were the very first Olympic Games were hosted. The stadium is incredible and kept in such beautiful condition. Please enjoy the very tumblr photo below, as well as my boyfriend looking very silly sporting his "21" stand on the podium!

19:00pm: Of course it wouldn't be a birthday without a birthday meal, which I picked out and booked through Tripadvisor's recommendations. Located 5 minutes from the Acropolis, Strofi provided beautiful scenery, lovely service and amazing food - and by far the best calamari that I've ever had!

21:00pm: Post dinner food coma called for a drink at the top of our bar. I very sensibly went for an Iced Tea in full knowledge of our next busy day ahead!
