My Favourite Nude Lipsticks

Left to Right: Rimmel Kate Moss 38, Rimmel Kate Moss 08, Rimmel Kate Moss 03, Rimmel Kate Moss Dare to Go Bare 42, Clinique 'Creamy Nude', Mac 'Jist'

Gooooood Afternoon! Today I am dedicating this blog post to my favourite nude lipsticks. I think everyone can agree that there is nothing better than a nude lipstick. Simple, elegant and flawless, they can perfect a makeup look. This Autumn I've wearing nude on more of a daily basis if I have a quite "out-there" outfit. Also I love a good nude as if you forget to apply them throughout the day, it's not as noticeable as if you were wearing a bright red lipstick. As everyone knows I am a lover of Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks so it's not surprise that a majority of my nudes come from this particular brand....aka 4/6 of them!

Rimmel Kate Moss Shade 08

This is one of my darkest of nudes which oddly looks a lot more berry undertones in the swatch than when applied on the lips. This is a lot more of a dark brown than swatches when applies to my lips. I would say this is my go to nude for an evening look as I think it's a tad harsh for a everyday look but it applies so beautifully and I do think this shade could suit multiple skin tones.

Clinique Creamy Nude

One of my newest additions is this beautiful Clinique lipstick. It's a very brown nude but has the most gorgeous creamy consistency ever. It has a great staying power which I would put down fully to the formulation and that is what you pay for! Because of it being such a dark/brown shade I opted this more for an evening look with a quite girly outfit to balance out the harshness of it although that is dependent solely because of my skin tone.

Rimmel Kate Moss Shade 03

This would be my most worn nude to date and is sadly coming to an end (must repurchase). It's the perfect balance between pink and brown to wear on a daily basis. It matches my skin colour perfectly without appearing to be wearing too pink of a lipstick or too brown of one so it doesn't show any cracks/wrinkles either. I absolutely love this shade as it really feels elegant and sophisticated.

Rimmel Kate Moss Dare to Go Bare Shade 42

One of the newest lipsticks from the Kate Moss range is the Dare to Go Bare collection. I picked shade 42 because I thought it had, just like the 03, a perfect balance between brown and pink undertones. For some reason, and I think it's because it is too light for my skin, it looks very sad on me and washes me out. However, if I mix it with the shade 03 it looks amazing. There's this extra umf that the 03 gives it to make it standout, therefore it is still placed in my favourites!

Rimmel Kate Moss Shade 38

One of my more pinky coloured nudes is the 38. I would say this is my second favourite nude lipstick after the 03 as it gives a more feminine touch to the 03. I loved wearing this in the summer with a girly lace outfit and gold shimmery eyes.

Mac Frost Shade Jist

Now I know this 'technically' doesn't count as a nude lipstick per-say, but I would definitely put this in the same colour range-ish .... sort of...and therefore I'm going to include it. Because I'm a rebel. Oh and I'm obsessed with it - I mean did you see that swatch down there? I picked this lipstick up in a bit of a panic because I was confused on whether or not I would ever wear it. Ironically that evening I did wear it so - ha mum, I told you I'd wear it! I would say I wouldn't wear this on a daily basis or 'out-and-about' but more if I was going out for the evening wearing all black and a little golden eye makeup, this would be my lipstick of choice. Oh and it's mac, so that's just extra points.

  3. Oh thank you thank you thank you for posting this! I have the hardest time finding a nice nude lipstick (mostly because I'm just so clueless when it comes to make up) and when I buy one it ends up being pink or just invisible! I don't know what it is but when I ask for help in finding a nude coloured one, the sales assistants don't seem to know what I'm after :( I might actually give the MAC one a go and even 08.. that looks like a nice shade with the berry undertones :)

    1. Oh I'm so glad it helped! I know exactly how you feel, I have quite a few nudes that I just can't ever wear because they are either too pink and make me look really washed out. Swatching your hand doesn't always help seeing as your lips are nowhere near the same colour! The 08 is a stunning shade and is definitely one of my favourites this october *sneak peak for blog post ;) * xx

  5. I love nude lipsticks. You are right... reds you would have to reapply, but nudes are similar to the lip pigment. Great post.

  6. These are awesome. I'm always looking for a good nude lipstick (MAC is usually the go-to), but I still haven't found my shade. I'm definitely going to try these out! Love that you've offered low and high end products, too.

    1. I know exactly how you feel, sometimes just the slightest bit too pink or brown can be totally wrong for your skin tone. It took me an absolute age and gave narrowed my ridiculous collection to these six! Thank you for reading! xx
