A Sunday Post

It's been a busy week and I thought I would do a little reflecting today -

A couple of my friends and I have been racking our brains trying to organize a weekend away and they were either outrageously expensive or some of the hotels were a little...uh. yeah. But finally we managed to book a 3 night getaway to Berlin at the end of November and I am so so excited. I love traveling and although I've been to Berlin before, it's going to be so fun and nice to go with some uni friends. Plus those Christmas markets. Squeal! Prepare for some "My Travel Makeup Bag" and "Berlin Haul" posts soon!

I handed in a couple of assignments! My semester is pretty coursework heavy this time, aka I have no exams and it's been really hard to balance them all but I finally handed in my first PR module essay and I've never been so relieved. Apart from the fact that our brief was completely useless, we were so terrified because this is finally a module we want to do well in and care about.

My mum is visiting on Friday! Not only does this mean I finally get my white converse, though to be fair was my fault for picking up hers, it means a little 1 on 1 time with probably the most hilarious person on earth. No seriously, I think I may start a new blog post of "inappropriate things my mum says." Obviously our day together will consist of shopping and afternoon tea, as one does.

I went out on Friday. You're probably like what in the hell makes this so ace? To be fair I hadn't gone out the week before which is totally shocking for me, no seriously, my housemates asked me if I was alright. Caroline, you are basically an alcoholic. Not only did I go out, but I finally managed to drag my best friend out to our union, though to be fair she didn't last quite so long! Once the chaotic drama mess subsided it was actually a good night!

Today I see my Grandma. No wait, let me rephrase it, today I'm off to see the person, who like my mum, is just too funny, inappropriate and outrageous. No seriously, let me put it into perspective, she calls me up with, "Now Caroline dear, I've just seen Fifty Shades of Grey, and I'm a little disappointed that you didn't see anything! I mean he has a nice torso and all but nothing else!" or my favourite "Do you think you can manage the train dear? I mean there are a lot of strange men around so don't speak to any. Well unless one of them is Mr.Financially right. Then you can talk to them". Everyone, my 85 year old Grandma. Apart from her sexual innuendos, she makes an amazing Sunday roast which is always accompanied by a jelly rabbit, childhood memories! With green grass of course. Why of course. Otherwise it is not the same.

Lastly, on a different note, a much more serious one, I wanted to express my condolences and all my thoughts on the attacks in Paris on Friday. Known as the city of love, it's utterly devastating what has happened there. In today's world we need to remember that what's important isn't to try and stop hate with hate, but to show our love, support and more importantly, show that we as a world stand together. I've been moved by so many people showing their support through social media and I hope that we can live in a more peaceful and beautiful world.  It's a difficult thing to digest, that so many innocent people have been hurt by extremism, but we are not a world that will back down and cower, we are a world that can and will stand strong, united. Je Suis Paris.

  1. I cannot wait to see pictures from your Berlin getaway! I'm super jealous. I am going to New Orleans for almost a week in December and I'm super excited also... I should probably start packing now! Haha I'm the worst at over-packing. I usually pack, unpack (aka cut down on things), then re-pack! I'm glad you went out; the nights I spent out with friends in college were some of the best nights of my life! :) Have fun with your family; I cannot wait until my parents visit... I miss them! Have a great Sunday!

Best feeling is handing in assignments or finishing exams.
Aww I love mother-daughter time (And I gotta say, that blogpost sounds entertaining as! :P). Your grandma sounds just as amazing! Haha.

I completely and wholly echo your sentiments about everything that has happened recently, light and love is what we need to focus on.

    1. Thank you! I just can't believe how many I seem to get this year! Unfortunately if we don't hand them in, every 10 minutes you drop 10% which is a definite incentive! xx
