My Favourites: October

I still cannot believe I have never written a monthly favourites blog ever. I feel like the worst blogger in the history of beautyblogging. And as every monthly favourites starts, *insert sentence on how we can't believe how quickly this month has gone* - no but seriously, Halloween has been and gone, wah! So here it goes, an attempt and of course what a month to chose. October. Basically the best for beauty favourites. I tried to get a mixture of different favourites ranging from skin care, nail care, foot care (eh), lips and dental (what?) - we'll just see how this pans out....

If you've been following me on Instagram you'd know that KIKO Milano cosmetics has fast become one of my favourite beauty brands. If you don't follow me on Instagram I highly suggest you do - love a good shameful plug in. This may have something to do with the fact that a new one just opened up practically next to my university and that it is just too convenient to not make the most out of. Secondly its an amazingly affordable brand and I rate their products so so highly. I purchased the KIKO Glowing Potion perfecting serum and wrote a brief haul post on it but now that I've been extensively using it everyday I can really see the benefits. My skin has become so incredibly smooth and even which makes my foundation application so easy. Because of the weather change using this alongside my moisturizer, my skin has been a lot less temperamental.

My next favourite is the KIKO Skin Tone Corrector Primer. I ran out of my sample sized Smashbox primer but didn't really want to pay £20 for a full-sized one because well, student. So I thought I'd try this one. As my skin is really dry, primers can be an absolute pain to find but I've found this one has been working wonders. My skin colour is quite uneven, very blotchy god Caroline you really are attractive - and as this is a green primer, which neutralizes your skin tone prior to putting on your makeup. It really hydrates your skin but without making it oily and my makeup has really stayed on for longer since switching to this primer. I'm in love!

Yup I'm going to admit this to the world with no shame. My teeth have never been the whitest and on my trips to America I thought I would try out the critically acclaimed Crest whitening strips. Now I don't get my teeth professionally whitened but have used two sets of these already ( 2 lots of 12 strips) and have noticed such an incredible different. I also use the matching toothpaste and even my friends have commented on how different my smile looks. You do get a lot of teeth sensitivity with it, but I'm so pleased my teeth have started to look a little more white than they were before. I know that the price sometimes puts a lot of people off, but I really am so impressed. Unfortunately I'm unable to easily buy this in the UK alongside the toothpaste but as my dad is heading to New York soon, he'll definitely be stocking up on this for me - thanks daddy!

My next favourite is a lipstick shade from, of course, Rimmel Kate Moss. 08 is the perfect Autumnal nude that I've been wearing on my lips nearly everyday. It's such an elegant dark purple nude and is so hydrating. What I love about this colour is that if your lips are worse for wear in the colder months, this doesn't exemplify it like a lot of nude lipsticks do. I actually own two of these now, one in my handbag and another in my bedroom to ensure that I always have one on me!

Of course a favourites blog wouldn't be complete without a nail polish of the month. This month I have been loving an Essie classic, Chinchilly. It's a gorgeous neutral grey toned polish that looks so classy. I honestly think this nail-polish works with everything and it looks good on short and long nails too.

Lastly is of course a Lush product. I spoke about this pumice stone in one of my Lush Haul blog posts here and am in love. I've been using it around 4x a week to just give my feet some TLC and without going into too much gross detail let's just say it works. In the winter months we really need to make sure we take care of our feet as they are always in boots and just because we aren't wearing flip flops doesn't mean they shouldn't be pampered every now and again!

So there we go! My first monthly favourites blog post! I hope you enjoyed it, let me know in the comments, and I'd love to hear what your October favourites are and if you've loved any of the products mentioned in this post too!

    1. I actually took a photo on my instagram a while back on what it looked like on; https://instagram.com/p/7huuO9IxPz/?taken-by=iridescentplaces

It's definitely a bit lighter than it looks in the bottle but if you layer it enough I expect it would have the same effect! It is sooo gorgeous! Thank you for reading! xx

    1. Oh my god this is the sweetest comment ever, totally made my day! Thank you so much :) - Yes KIKO is definitely an amazing brand, a lot of people say that it is technically made in the same factory as MAC...though I'm not quite sure how much I believe it, I can see it in the product quality! xx
