My Touch-Up-And-Go Products

Although some makeup has great wearing power, it's adamant that I always carry around a few little bits for a "touch-up-and-go" emergency. Obviously I don't always carry around ALL of this and a lot of it depends on the type of makeup look I'm going for and more importantly, the size of my handbag.

It takes me a good 20 minutes to walk to my university and it's not surprise that half my mascara and eyeliner have run down my face by the end of the day. I really need to invest in a setting spray. Therefore a top up of my L'oreal Pencil Perfect Eyeliner Ebony eyeliner and Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara are always in my handbag. I totally recommend this mascara as it's so volumising and the brush is to die for, it's not plastic and that packaging tho. That packaging tho.

It's of course no surprise that one always needs to carry around a little face powder to stop the shine/just look less like...well crap. I actually own two Rimmel Stay Matte powders, one to have in my handbag and one at home and this is amazing at reducing shine during the day. Even better is that I swear this stuff never breaks. I'm pretty careless with my bag, always swinging and banging it into things and basically drop-kicking it on the floor, and it's a miracle how this stuff never seems to break, obviously plastic is a lot more effective as a casing than we thought. My powder wouldn't be complete without using my trusty Real Techniques powder brush which always gives an amazing finish that doesn't leave your face feeling cakey.

Now you're probably like what the hell do you have your beauty blender in your handbag for without any foundation. You know what I've found is possibly the best thing to remove the mascara and eyeliner residue from under your eyes without effing up your entire face? That thing! Caroline that THING really needs another deep clean soon. Today, I promise...

My handbag also includes a few trusty lip products including my Blistex lipbalm, as we know the weather is prone to making you feel as if you're walking around with part of the Sahara desert on your face. My lipstick of choice if I'm not going for a bold lip that day will usually be my Rimmel Kate Moss 08 which I raved about constantly in my October Favourites and Nude Lipstick posts - you were waiting for that plug in weren't you?!

Okay can we just gawp at how bloody cute and miniature this is? The ChloĆ© Eau de Parfum is one of my favourites and I wear it practically everyday. Although it is quite a strong scent I still love to re-apply this when I'm out just incase I am off to dinner or a movie pfsh trying to make it sound like I have a social life. The bottle is a 5ml bottle and is just so darn cute, I'm still fawning. I also like to keep a few random bobby pins in the bottom of my bag just incase my hair starts doing that really weird thing where it kind of just looks awful. Yeah you know that thing that it does in the rain or just....normally. Thought these somehow seem to get swallowed up by my handbag.

Lastly is my Carex strawberry laces hand sanitizer. University is a gross place where I swear germs just seem to infest and spread so quickly. I'm all about the cleansing wipes and anti-bacterial gel but what makes this stuff even more awesome is that it doesn't smell intoxicating but like strawberry! Well okay, to some people it may smell like intoxicating strawberry. Along with my hand sanitizer I am a total gum addict. I generally hate not having minty breath so chew it regularly, although this is not my usual "Extra Spearmint" packet, this is my "in case of emergencies when you have nothing else" gum packet.

So there are my handbag touch-up-and-go products! I'd love to know what emergency products you carry around with you and if there is anything I'm missing from my stash!

  5. Rimmel Stay Matte is amazing and I always carry it in my bag although your idea of having two is such a good one as I'm always switching it back and forth between my handbag and my makeup box! If you're looking for a setting spray I use the makeup revolution one which is cheap and pretty good!

    1. I really have been looking for a setting spray, I had my eyes on the urban decay one but the price is so off putting! I love makeup revolution and really rate them so next time I'm in superdrug (which is basically daily) I will soooo be picking that up! thank you for the recommendation and for reading! xx

  8. I always carry around a concealer with me. Especially when I go to the gym, my makeup gets all faded so I always top up in the locker room :) I never bring a little perfume though, thats a good idea - the chloe one is so cute.

  10. This is such a great post as always, Caroline! I do the beauty blender thing too!!! Glad to know I'm not the only one, it's actually so effective! That ChloƩ perfume is ADORABLE! And this post reminded me to chuck a few bobbypins and hairties back in my bag (how do they always get lost!), and some more gum!

    1. oh my god thank goodness! I totally thought I was super weird doing it but it seriously works right! It kind of stops the smudging and you have a bit of your foundation from the morning to let it top off under your eyes again! So glad you enjoyed it :) I love reading your comments each time, they really make me smile! xx

  11. I always carry lip balm with me! Nothing is worse than knowing you don't have any...because then you really want it! I don't usually carry my makeup with me because well you know, lazy. I also work with all men who really couldn't tell the difference anyway ha!

    1. I know right! It's like the one time you don't, you suddenly start doing that awful thing where you lick your lips, full knowledge that it makes it worse and you just end up with chapped lips that takes weeks to rejuvenate! xx
