❄ My Christmas Day Makeup Look ❄

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! In my family we take tomorrow, Christmas day, pretty seriously. Although the morning does consist of looking pretty ratched in my pyjamas opening my presents, we then get pretty dressed up for the rest of the day. My go-to Christmas Day makeup look this year is a very heavy gold eye along along with a red lippy - can you think of anything more Christmassy than that?! And yes, I am that crazy girl who decides to wear a red lip, because although I'll most likely have it all over my face from eating, I refuse to not do the red lip thing. I refuse! I took inspiration from the shirt I will be wearing which is a gorgeous horizontal gold and black striped jumper from Topshop. Trust me to be the only one wearing black on Christmas day...

Base:

I started off using the Kieh's Midnight Recover Concentrate and then finishing off with the Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 30. To prime my face I use the KIKO Skin Tone Corrector Primer and let that sink in for a couple of minutes.

I move onto my trusty Nars Sheer Glow foundation Mont Blanc and apply it all over my face with my Real Techniques beauty blender. God I love that thing. I like quite a heavy coverage on special occasions as I like it to last the whole day. I then powder my face all over with the good old Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent. I dust the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer to give myself a little bit of colour along with contouring with the Sleek Contour Kit and the Sleek Blush in Flushed. Lastly I used Mac's Soft and Gentle highlighter across my cheek bones.

Eyes:

For Christmas day I will be doning those intense golden shimmery eyes. I start off with priming my eyes with the Maybelline Colour Tattoo as a base in On and On Bronze. I then go to my Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette which has the most gorgeous shade ever called Honey Pot which I applied to the entire lid.  Using the KIKO Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick in 07, I applied it on top of the eyeshadow and in the inner corner for a bit of brightness.  For a bit more depth I took the Naked 3 palette shade in Tickled and applied to the outer corner and my crease.  To highlight under my brow bone and inner corner I used Silk Teddy from my Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette  a gorgeous bright dusty pink shade.

Lips:

For a bright red lip I'm using my KIKO Intensely Lavish Lip Pencil in 06 to line my entire lips to ensure that my lipstick lasts all day through all the eating and drinking. I then put on my new Mac lipstick I just had to pick up at Duty Free, Russian Red. I'm totally in love with this lipstick and I know, you were probably expecting my Rimmel Kate Moss 107 to make an appearance, but instead I've decided to go for a much brighter red lipstick than usual. Bit of an unnecessary close up shot of your mouth Caroline.

So there we have it! My Christmas Day makeup look! I would love to know what you think and whether you will be wearing a red lipstick on the 25th!

    1. The one time a year if the red lipstick smudges around your face, it's totally acceptable! Thank you and hope you had a lovely holiday too! xx
