Product Samples Review

You know what's great? Samples. They seriously rock. Not in the "I like free shit" kind of way, but more in a, "thank god I don't need to spend £25 on the full-sized product before realizing it causes my skin to break out" kind of way. Okay and the free part kind of rules too. My skin is incredibly sensitive and unfortunately there have been times where tI've bought products in full-size that just end up being horrible. So after gathering a few sample products either through kindly being sent them, found on a whim or given as a 'freebie', I thought I'd give you a little review on what worked and what didn't for me!

Clinique Colour Pop lipstick in Nude Pop

Hundreds of us squealed in excitement when this miniature sized lipstick was put in the December Glamour magazine. I couldn't believe that this came with the £2 magazine which is an incredible deal. I picked up the colour nude pop because one can never have too many nude lipsticks right?! Right. I absolutely love the colour of this lipstick, I mean look at that swatch?! There is a little shimmer in it which I think is so beautiful and the wear is fantastic. I do think that the lipstick is a little bit on the sticky side, but I do definitely think this makes the staying power longer. I would totally purchase the full-sized product size.

Kiehl's Samples

Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 30

I used to use this moisturizer for an absolute age but the price starting putting me off buying it. Lovingly gifted by Kiehl's I remembered why this moisturizer was so amazing. I've been having quite a few dry patches around my nose and this moisturizer has really been helping. You only have to use a small amount to see the difference. Once I start being a bit more frugal with my money, I generally think I may move from my Olay to this moisturizer for times when my skin really is tackling the winter weather.

Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate

Ever since buying my KIKO serum I've been like..."why in the hell have I never been using a serum before?!" And this one is no exception. I had the worst dry skin in the entire world, no seriously it was horrendous and I started applying this every night along with the midnight recover concentrate and the two together have cleared up all my blemishes and the dry skin in under a week. Seriously, I can't explain how amazing this stuff is, I'm generally in shock. After this I'm going to start saving up to buy the two because although the full sized items are pricey, I've never seen a product work this well on my skin ever.

Ultimate Strength Hand Salve

During the winter months my hands have become increasingly drier. I absolutely love a hand cream and I was very joyous when I received this one because ultimately it meant trying out a new one and comparing it to my very much loved Body Shop Almond and Nail Cream. I definitely have been loving using this in my handbag the only problem is I wouldn't say it's any better than my body shop hand cream. It's almost double the price as a 75ml tube costs £14 whereas the body shop 100ml cost £11. Although it works as a hand cream, absorbs and moisturizes, I wouldn't pay the price if there is an equally as good one on the market!

Midnight Recover Concentrate

As said before, along with the serum this oil has been a life saver. I've been amazed at this oil and I apply a few drops to my skin in the evenings and have seriously noticed a great difference. I can't really tell if it's the serum alone, the concentrate alone or the both of them together that is making the difference, but either way, the combination has been incredible.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

I was really apprehensive when first trying this primer. Due to my skin being so dry, a lot of the primers don't tend to work. They either start to become flakey or just make my makeup a lot worse. HOWEVER with this primer it actually works. No really, like, wow. My foundation lasts a lot longer, it applies a lot better and my skin feels a lot better too. I am however really unsure about purchasing the full-sized product at £25 as I do think it's quite a lot to spend on a primer? I have to say, I prefer it to my KIKO one, but then again, that one was £15 cheaper. Does anyone know of a cheaper dupe of this primer? Let me know!

Have you tried any of the above in full-sized? What are some of your favourite samples you've received? Let me know in the comments below!
