My favourite eye products

If you would have told me a couple of years ago that I would soon be an eyeshadow fanatic I would have laughed in your face. Eyeshadow terrified me. The thought of having to blend together colours that seemingly matched so it didn't look look I was punched in the eye was daunting. However, now that I've finally understood the correct ways to apply eyeshadow thanks to all the Youtube beauty gurus out there I have loved to buy all things eyes

So I thought I would put together a few of my favourite eye products from my makeup stash to share with you and why I absolutely love them!

The Maybelline 24 HR Colour Tattoo are a product I'm sure most people have either stocked up on or heard about from numerous bloggers/youtubers. The perfect base gel-cream eyeshadow, their formulas are second to none and usually compared to Mac's Pr Longwear Paint Pots, but without the price tag. Retailing at £.99 these have a wide range of stunning colours. I have two in the shade 35 - One and on Bronze and 65 - Pink Gold. I use Pink Gold as a base for my rose-gold eye-looks and my One and on Bronze is a staple for my copper/gold eye looks. They are beautifully pigmented and don't crease at all, and are long lasting (although unsure on 24hours as have never worn them for that long!)

Next of course are the KIKO Long Lasting Eyeshadow Sticks. I picked up four of these gorgeous eyeshadow sticks in the hopes they were a cheaper version of the By Terry Ombre Blackstar eyeshadow sticks. Although never owning one from By Terry, these eyeshadow sticks were so impressive. Long lasting, beautiful pigmentation and the crayon-tip applicator made it so easy to apply the colour. Most of my readers will know I was an absolute lover of the shade 07, a beautiful light golden eyeshadow, however now delving into my Spring/Summer makeup Yes I know it's still february I am loving shade 21 another pink eyeshadow, but darker than the Rose-Gold and a tad less shimmery too. These cost a bargain of £6.90 each, a necessity for any eyeshadow lover out there I think!

Moving onto powdered eyeshadows are the beautiful Mac Extra Dimension Eye Shadow in Amorous Alloy. Throughout Autumn this was practically worn everyday. I am completely obsessed with this colour, a stunning rich copper colour which, with a different formula than the original eyeshadows, is a lot long lasting, more creamy and blendable. I have had my eyes on Sweet Heat for an absolute age but at £16, these are expensive little individual eyeshadows, even if the product is worth it!

Next is my Wet 'N Wild Walking on Eggshells palette. This has made its way into my favourite eye products very quickly not only because of the amazing price (thinking it was around £3 mark when converted?) and the colour pay-off is brilliant. You wouldn't expect a lot from this trio but I use the browbone highlighter at the top nearly everyday with most eye looks. If you are able to get your hands on any Wet 'N Wild products, when abroad (sadly not sold in the UK yet!) I would grab them!

Guaranteed this post would not be complete without my beautiful Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. Sadly this is the only Naked palette I own but it is very much loved. with a beautiful range of pink to nude shades this is my most used palette to date. I absolutely love the colours, the colour pay-off and how easily they blend. There is near to no fall-out when applying these shadows and they match my skin-tone so perfectly. Dark/blue cooler colours don't tend to work well for me so this palette provides me with great warmer alternatives to a brown/nude smokey eye for my nights out! These retail for £38 but lookout on www.feelunique.com as a lot of the time they have great deals on them!

Then comes my lovely Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette. I picked this palette up in Washington when I was traveling last Summer and although it made a little bit of a dent in my travel budget, it was totally worth it. As you can tell Push Up, Honey Pot and Silk Teddie are my far favourite shades which are used. This palette is what really made me delve into Too Faced products and led me to purchasing their amazing Better Than Sex mascara. I have my eyes on a few more of their products that I would love to start purchasing as this palette is all too beautiful!

Lastly, quite a new and different product to my collection is the Benecos Natural Eyeshadow Base*. I was very kindly sent this a while ago by the Benecos team and ever since I have been using it religiously as an eyeshadow primer. An all natural and organic brand, I was a little apprehensive on this product at first, mainly because it was a brand that I hadn't heard of, but it's immense sticky consistency means my eyeshadows have never looked so pigmented and lasted so long! This product is even Vegan and budget friendly at £5.95!

So there it is! My favourite eye products post! I can't believe I've become such an eyeshadow advocate and don't really know what I was doing without it before! I would love to know what some of your favourite products are and if any of them are the ones mentioned about! Let me know!

  8. So many gorgeous products! I absolutely love the Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow sticks, I have two of them and I love them! I also have one the Maybelline Color Tattoos and I'm not the biggest fan, I was a bit disappointed as I find that they crease a bit, maybe I'm using it wrong? I've never tried any of the other products you mentioned but every time I pop into Sephora my eyes always get stuck in the Too Faced palette, it's gorgeous :)

    1. I think with the maybelline ones they definitely need a solid eyeshadow primer to stop them from creasing and I found the best way was to add little by little in the layers, because yes otherwise they do crease a little! Ohhh definitely try investing in the Too Faced palettes! I've had my eyes on the chocolate bar but don't have the money right now at all to splurge on it! Thank you for reading lovely :)! xx

  9. Your posts are always so entertaining Caroline! I agree about the Maybelline Color Tattoo, I've heard so much about it but I actually haven't tried it! That golden rose color looks so perfect! I really want to try it! Also I only own one naked palette too! Only that I have the number 2! I think those palettes are such classics that you cannot really go wrong with them!

  11. I have to say I'm still in the 'I'm a little bit terrified of eyeshadow' phase of my makeup life :P But youtubers have definitely helped me slowly start to try it out a bit more, I really want a KIKO stick cause they seem so easy and so pretty!

P.S. You should do some eyeshadow tutorials if you can :)

    1. I personally find eyeshadow the most daunting part of all makeup. It's so hard to figure out what shades look good on you and definitely took me a while to realize that cooler toned eyeshadows look horrible on me! I'll definitely think about doing some! Tomorrow I have a blog post on a new makeup look which incorporates my Naked 3 palette! xx
