My Favourite Makeup Brushes

Today I'm talking about makeup tools. When it comes to makeup tools I am a firm believer that the right tools can really make your makeup look a lot more natural and put together! Oh and they are also really pretty.  So here I am to share with you my favourite makeup brushes that I have and always will, continue to use.

I purchased the Zoeva Rose Golden Vol. 2 brush set earlier last year and my entire life had changed. I finally had a brush for almost everything needed to apply my makeup and more importantly (but not really) was how gorgeous they were. The brush set came with 8 brushes varying from blush brushes, contour, eyeshadow and probably my favourite, the Zoeva silk finish foundation brush. The bristles are fine yet compact, soft yet still pick up the product and personally, I think worth the money completely. The set costs a total of £56.95 and comes with a gorgeous rose gold makeup bag which is now my on-the-go makeup touch-up bag. I think for 8 brushes this is a great price seeing as they are it comes with a versatile range. The blending eyeshadow brush is amazing and I have no idea how I managed eyeshadow application before when I didn't own this.

Next of course would be my Real Techniques brushes. Firstly is the Miracle Complexion Sponge practically my life saver when it comes to applying foundation. Although mine is looking a little manky (but hey it's a makeup sponge, it's meant to be used!) , it's a product I rave constantly about. I even bought one for my mum for Christmas! This really does give you the flawless base and helps buffer in the makeup so it doesn't sit cakey on the skin. I personally don't feel comfortable paying a hefty some for the real Beauty Blender sponge and think this is a much budget friendlier option at £5.99 (sometimes it's cheaper to buy two than one so you can easily replace them!)

Secondly is the Contour Brush which I in fact use for highlighter mainly because of my small cheeks. It's extremely soft and applies the highlighter so gently allowing you to also blend it out.

Then of course is my big fluffy Powder Brush. I powder my face everyday with this brush mainly because it picks up the product really well and allows you to blend it onto your face without either moving your foundation underneath or lathering it on to make it cakey. This is my brush however that probably gets the dirtiest most quickly, and really does need a good clean when you use it!

Lastly is my Expert Face Brush. This actually was my first ever makeup brush ever bought (shock I know) and I used to use it for applying my foundation. After using my Complexion sponge nothing really compares, however I love using this to blend in my concealer underneath my eyes as the bristles are more compact which means my concealer creases less and appears less streaky!

There are my favourite makeup brushes to date! I would love to know any recommendations for makeup brushes as I am still looking for a new bronzing brush...any ideas? Let me know!

    1. I absolutely love Real techniques, although they are a little bit more expensive than a typical 'drugstore' brush, they work so well! I need to delve into more of their collection! Have my eyes on their eyeshadow brushes and blush brush! Definitely give it a try! It's so cheap as well :) xx
