My Morning Skincare Routine

After having such lovely feedback on my Evening Skincare Routine post I thought I would bring in the morning version, sneaky self-promotional plug in!

I am one of those people that yes, takes a shower and washes my hair everyday so I tend to start off my skincare routine in the shower using the St Ives Gentle Apricot Facial Scrub. I only use this around 3x a week. Even though it says to use everyday after speaking to a lovely woman at the Nars counter whoops at Gatwick Airport telling me that my awfully dry skin could be prone to exfoliating everyday. So I took her advice and now only use it a couple of times a week! I love this scrub because it's really great for sensitive skin as most scrubs make my skin raw and red luuurvley!

I then begin my routine with Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate, only using 3-4 drops on my skin and allowing it to sink in before applying any moisturizer. This concentrate paired with my Midnight Recovery Serum provides my skin with such a healthy glow and allows my foundation to apply so evenly onto my skin the next day. I'm also obsessed with the smell of this product with; Ginger Root, Sunflower Oil and Tamanu Oil - I immediately feel awake. Can you tell I'm a Kiehl's-Aholic?

As mentioned in many-a-many blog posts, dry skin = the necessity to moisturize as much as possible. I honestly won't harp on anymore about the fantastic and life-changing First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream but it's amazing. Sorry I know I promised. I apply a lighter layer than I would in the evening just to ensure that it sinks into my skin enough so that I'm not all oily looking.

I then like to use the Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub to prep my lips for the choice of lipstick of the day to ensure that they don't look all dry and gross. Gross.

Lastly comes my primer. I know technically NOT part of my skincare routine but more my makeup routine, as I wouldn't necessarily apply it on a day without makeup, but just to keep you updated that I am still loving my KIKO Skin Tone Corrector Primer as it really does provide that little bit extra colour correction aka let's make your face look less like Clifford the Big Red Dog yeah?

So there we go! My Morning Skincare Routine? Do you use any of the products or have any to suggest? But like, please don't as I'm on a spending-ban. Maybe just mention a few....

    1. It seems to be the only face exfoliator that doesn't make my face red and raw which is such a bonus for sensitive skin! Honestly I really recommend the recovery oils, they are expensive but last up to 6-9 months and really make a difference :) xx

  3. I'm yet to try anything from Kiehls! But this daily concentrate sounds really good - going to have to look into their products when I finish my current facial oil :) The St Ives scrub sounds really good too!

    1. It's quite an expensive brand and I personally wouldn't have spent so much on the face oil if I hadn't tried a tester first to see if it worked with my sensitive skin! xx

  4. I use the exact same scrub! It's so gentle and smells amazing! Definitely a fave! I'm also a person that washes her hair every single day. I know it's supposed to be bad for your hair but I can't stand not washing it every day, do you know what I mean? As always, it's delightful to read your posts lovely. Sending you love, xx

    1. I know people tell me it takes the natural oils out of my hair or something but I just have to! If I don't do it I just feel greasy and blegh! Thank you for reading! St Ives appears to definitely be a favourite amongst us bloggers! xx

    1. I really think the daily and night concentrates have made my skin a lot less drier, loss blotchier (it used to be so inconsistent in colour tone) and really beneficial! It looks like a lot of money to spend on oil, but it really makes such a difference! xx

  6. I haven't used St Ives in such a long time! I love my Antipodes Grace Cream Cleanser and my Embryolisse moisturiser in the morning at the moment. My Origins Ginzing eye cream is perfect for waking up my under eye area too :)
