Recent Empties

There are two reasons why I never write 'empty' posts;

1) I am a complete minimalist and the idea of having to hold onto empty bottles (basically trash) makes me actually feel a little sickly.

2) I rarely ever totally finish a product.

However, recently I have been making it my mission to finish more and more products, especially skincare ones, instead of going out and buying new ones.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Confession. I picked this product up so fricking long ago. When I say so fricking long ago, I mean October. I had to even look for my old review blog post to find out exactly when which can be found here (pluuuggg in) It's insane that I've only just gotten round to finishing it, not because it's a product that lasts forever etc, it's just I much prefer using my Lush Ultrabland to remove my makeup. However, it's a great product, which tackles eye makeup like an actual pro without turning you into a panda whilst your doing it. I used to wear a really stubborn eyeliner which didn't budge and even my Ultrabland couldn't remove it, just this. I just don't particularly like it for removing my foundation. Everyone raved about how it was a drugstore dupe for the Bioderma Micellar Water, but seeing as I never tried it, I can't tell you. Personally, will I buy this again? Probably not. Not because it's a bad product, it's just my eyeliner I use now, isn't a pain to remove and I'm just more of a Ultrabland lover.

Maybelline Brow Drama

This is my second of the brow drama products and I distinctively remember the hype around this product. It was as if everyone bought it, loved it immensely, and then started to dislike it. Brow gels are something I hadn't delved into before and I was quite concerned when I looked at the applicator of this brush. It's odd. I really liked the colour and the fact that the product came out evenly and kept my brows in place. However, I am still yet to find that perfect brow gel. I replaced this one with a Sleek one which I am too, quite unsure about. I probably won't be repurchasing this product mainly because of the applicator and I will continue my search for the perfect product!

A product I definitely will be buying and continue buying is the concealer by Maybelline. I adore this concealer. As someone with quite dry skin, it is so moisturizing and doesn't end up patchy or cakey on my face which is always a concern when it comes to concealers. Although quite a yellow tone, it's got great coverage and although not my 'brightest' concealer, it definitely does the job. I love the sponge like applicator and I find this product lasts quite a long time too. Definite re-purchase!

KIKO Skin Tone Corrector Primer

Next is my second bottle of the KIKO Primer. Although this is my second bottle I think I'm going to have to dive into the other world of primers at the moment. Although I really do like this primer, it only gives your makeup that 'long-lasting' effect for I would say from 9am-4pm type of time. I'm not quite sure if it does really 'correct' my very blotchy skin but the product doesn't go all 'bally' like some primers do and I love the pump on this product. It gives such a perfect amount of product each time it's beautiful. Enough about the pump. I would say for anyone wanting a cheaper primer, as there aren't many out there, this is a good'n but late afternoon you will need to do a little touch up of the powder.

Anyone who knows me knows I have the thinnest and straightest hair in the world. Which is great, apart from when I want to every now and again curl my hair. Although no hairspray can ever hold my curls, if I do the 'braids over night' type thing, along with using this hairspray, the curls do actually stay rather than if I do it using curlers. Weirdly I'm totally obsessed with the smell of hairspray and reminds me of my dance show days cute! Although this does give your hair a bit of that 'crispy' feeling, I guess that's what comes along with it. I did actually repurchase their Salon Finish Extra Hold hairspray, so for now, TRESemmé will be repurchased!

  7. I remember when Maybelline first released The Eraser foundation and there was a consensus in the beauty world that it was horrible, so I always presumed the concealer would be awful too. But, everyone seems to love the concealer so, as my skin is on the dry side too, I'll have to give it a try!

    1. It's a great concealer for dry skin where it doesn't go patchy or cake-like so it's one that I try and use around my nose a lot more where it tends to be the driest! xx
