Look Incredible April Beauty Box

Firstly, I have to immensely apologize for how late this review is. The Look Incredible monthly beauty boxes usually arrive around the 4th or 5th of the month, but seeing as I was back at home in Switzerland I was only just able to open it! However, now that I'm back in the UK (to the land of cheaper makeup) I can finally share with you the excitement of opening this month's box and it containing the leaflet with all of the product pricing and descriptions this time!

L'Oreal Paris Nutri-Gold Silk Moisturizer - £13 (Full Sized Product, 50ml)

I was excited to see Look Incredible's first skincare product in the box as in last months March beauty box post I actually mentioned wanting to try out some more skincare products it's like they read my mind! As I'm someone constantly suffering with dry skin I'm always up for trying a new moisturizer to battle the sahara desert face. Interestingly the moisturizer doesn't come with any English instructions apart from "use daily on thoroughly cleansed face" and the list of ingredients isn't in English either...but hey! It says it has silky oil, calcium and white jasmine and promises that in 4 weeks the skin is intensely nourished, soft and silky.

What I find interesting though, it when googling a lot of the products from Look Incredible, they do tend to be discontinued products, which makes me feel a little bit cheated. I would like to see subscription boxes showing me new products, so that I can give impressions on new products...otherwise it seems a little pointless.

Smashbox Blush Soft Light Duo - £15 (Full Sized Product)

In last months post I wasn't too impressed with the Smashbox eyeshadow duo, mainly due to the colour choice, but am definitely loving this month's product! This gorgeous blush and highlight pot is perfect for the Spring/Summer time as the blush is this matte dark-dusty pink toned shade along with the most stunning pink-undertoned highlighter. I have to say, the highlighter is beautiful. It reminds me a little of the Mary-Loumanizer one without being glittery but just pure sheen. I am definitely a lover of this product! Apologies that I can't find the link to this product anywhere...apart from Amazon...another discontinued product?

Laura Geller Spackle Undereye Eye Primer - £20 (Full Sized Product, 14.5 ml)

Ouch. Can we just look at that price for a minute? I don't personally think I would pay £20 for a undereye eye primer. I don't have the best of luck when it comes to eye products as my undereyes are quite sensitive. I love the applicator which is metal tipped supposedly helping to cool down and soothe your undereyes. I'll definitely be letting you know how this product works out for me as this will be the first of Laura Geller's products for me to try.

Look Incredible is definitely loving these glossy lip crayon type products! Last month I received the Nars Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil which be it, was a gorgeous colour, but as we are coming to Spring/Summer time, I wanted a bit more of a neutral toned lip in this months box. Lucky me again, I got it! This is a very very glossy and pigmented lip colour, which to me is a bit more champagne-pink than nude (which is what I tend to think of when a shade is called Naked) and am actually really enjoying this product. I love how we are getting some quite high-end products in these boxes and that they are starting to correlate a lot more to the seasons!

Velvet 59 My Fair Lashes Mascara - £19.99 (Full Sized Product)

Another mascara has appeared in Look Incredible's beauty box (the first one being in February's here) and I have to say I was a little bit disappointed as at first glance I generally thought it was a Benefit mascara, just from the packaging alone! Regardless, look at those claims, 95% longer lashes, 100% thicker lashes and 100% say they would use it everyday, those statements tho. From first impressions, yes it's a good mascara. Nothing wow, nothing tremendous but hey it's a good mascara, and personally a lot better than February's one (I passed that one along to my mum). I personally don't think it holds a curl enough or gives any volume, but if you like separated lashes a bit more this could be for you!

Left to Right, Urban Decay  'Naked' , Smashbox Duo Blush, Smashbox Duo Highlight

Total Cost: £18.99 per month
Number of Products: 5 Full Sized Products
Total Value of Products: £81.99

So there we have it, April's beauty box! There were definitely a few products I was happy to have seen including skincare and some urban decay products (and more importantly the leaflet being there). I am still a little skeptical on the whole discontinued product shenanigan and would love to know if any of you have raised your eyebrows when beauty boxes do this?

I'm going to be keeping my eye out on this discontinued product stuff, because I don't want to be lumped with some 'old-stock' products that just need to be shifted... (which I found out I was with my Body Shop perfume last month) so we will see how next month's box goes... Regardless, I definitely think this months box has catered for a lot more people than the previous months and am looking forward to seeing how May's box pans out!

    1. I know right, I'm especially upset the smashbox duo being discontinued because it is gorgoeus! xx

  2. The discontinued products are really irritating, what's the point in getting something that could be amazing but you'll never be able to repurchase it? Aside from that, the rest of the box seems quite good especially the Urban Decay Super Saturated Lip Color. I have 2 of them at the moment in bolder shades but Naked does sound rather appealing.

    1. Thank you! There were some really good finds in these boxes but seeing as 2 of them were discontinued was a bit of a bummer! Naked is really gorgeous for a natural sheen colour! xx

  3. It sounds like a great value! I think I would use everything if I got them, although it's annoying that they sent you products that are hard to get a hold of. That highlight is gorgeous!

    1. Thank you Ana! This is quite a new box in itself in the UK (think it started in January) so I'm sure there will be a new beauty box in Mexico too! xx

  5. It looks like a great box but I would be quite upset about those discontinued products, they usually get them very cheap so they shouldn't count as full price products. At least they're nice! x

    1. True at least they were nice discontinued products, but quite upset if I can never get my hands on the smashbox duo again! Definitely will be seeing how the box pans out in the next few months though! xx

  6. This box looks amazing! I have one of the Urban Decay lip glosses and they're so gorgeous! Not to mention that under eye primer seems really interesting, the metal I imagine would be freezing cold in the mornings haha xxx
