My Mac lipstick collection is definitely one of my most treasured. Although it isn't as large as many people's Mac lipstick collections, it's one that I'm very proud I can say, that I love each and every shade. Every single one. You have to admit, there is something so gorgeous about those sleek bullets. Queue a lot of close up unnecessary photos of my lips.
The most recent purchase has been Velvet Teddy. I finally gave into the hype of this product being the 'perfect nude' although originally hating it when I tried it on in the store. Obviously there was something very wrong with the lighting in House of Fraser in Guildford because I absolutely love this shade. It's a matte finish which surprisingly isn't as drying as some of the other matte formulas by other lipstick companies. What I love is that this shade is only a little bit darker and more brown than my normal lip colour, meaning when the colour does fade during the day (which does take a long time as it's staying power is great), it doesn't leave you with that awful lip liner effect look. I'm so please I picked this one up as it's slowly becoming a favourite nude!

Twig
Twig is a very difficult shade to describe. A bit darker than your average nude it's a gorgeous burnt brown shade with the tiniest purple mauve undertone. That is honestly the only way I can describe it. Another matte finish this is my second-most-recently-purchased lipstick. This is the lipstick I tend to opt for on a night out (plug in for my Night-Out Makeup Look blog post) and has this sophisticated elegance about it. Along with the lip liner 'Whirl' it hit the makeup world by being the 'Kylie Jenner' pout product.
This shade has appeared so often on my blog it's insane. My first ever Mac purchase which made it's first appearance here cutteee was this lipstick. It's a cremesheen finish but unlike some cremesheens, is so beautifully pigmented and has great longevity. Mine is nearing to the end so I will of course be picking it up again for sentimental reasons but also for the fact that it is in fact the perfect pink shade for my skin-tone. It doesn't wash me out, and because it's a cremesheen, it's great for my lips which do tend to get dry in the warmer months too and the colder months. And practically ever month.

Style Approved
There always has to be one Mac lipstick that just sticks out from the collection and it happens to be Style Approved. Making it's way back into my makeup bag as the weather has changed is this gorgeous bright orange/coral lippie. Although not a complete fan of the packaging totally ruined the consistency of my photos it's a colour more daring than any of my others. there are these weird little glitter particles when you look up close, even though it is not glittery at all, so not quite sure what they are doing there? This is that lipstick that you go to when you're going for a basic white T outfit or a white summer dress for a little dab of colour into your look. Unfortunately I couldn't find this product on the website anymore, but I'm sure it's available somewhere...

'Style Approved' (Mineralize Rich) |
Although I did say that I love each and every shade, this, if I had to chose, would be my least worn/favourite. By no means does that mean that I don't like it, because I do, it's just it's quite the unusual shade...I'm not quite sure what drew me to this Frost formula perhaps I thought it was a nude? It's a lipstick that I actually tend to wear alongside another one. For example, when going out for a nice dinner and having to wear an actual formal dress (t's usually black) I chose a basic nude lipstick, and apply this over it for a bit more of a glitter sheen. I wouldn't usually wear it on it's own unless when I was really tanned (it looked a lot better) but I think it's a unique shade in my collection!

A favourite of mine during the Autumnal months is this deep burgundy and plum undertoned shade. With it's lustre formula it may not be the longest lasting, but it is more moisturizing than my cremesheen fanfare colour. I do think it's a little less pigmented than Fanfare and requires around 2-3 coats for a full coverage but nonetheless it's such an easy shade to wear. It's not a lipstick I worry about wearing and looking too bold or 'too much' as it's versatile and can look quite natural but also providing a little 'sumthin sumthin' to your look.

Russian Red
A collection wouldn't be a collection without a bold red lip. Another matte finish is this bright red lip. I would say this really is that 'Christmas' red, without any dark purple or berry undertones and it literally, just red. I thought it was overly similiar to my Rimmel Kate Moss 107 when I was at the till, thinking of doing a double-take but gladly, it's a bit brighter and lighter than 107. It's one that I really tend to wear only when my lips have had a little bit of TLC not flakey dry and all that and provides a little glam. I'm not quite sure if I will be reaching for this as much now given the Spring/Summer season as it was a pretty staple in the Winter time with a gold eye, but nonetheless, great staying power.
