My Favourites: April

Happy "I can't believe we're five months into the year" post! April was full of new makeup purchases as I was both at home for a little and could explore some new counters in Switzerland as well as digging into my makeup collection and finding some old gems.

I'm not much of a hand cream kind of person, I don't particularly carry it around in my handbag or use it on a daily basis at all. However, every now and again my hands to get a little dry and I keep this little pot next to my bed. I have to say I love this hand cream. As you can tell I haven't used it THAT much, mainly because I don't use hand-cream very often but trust me this pot will last me a while! I love how it doesn't feel greasy and more importantly, it gives your hands instant moisture (probably down to the cocoa butter), rather than needing multiple coats of it throughout the day. I have to say the scent is pretty strong, think it's the neroli which is supposed to have some anti-bacterial health benefits!

Of course I couldn't pick up a couple of Wet 'n Wild products when I headed back to Switzerland. I chose this gorgeous rose-pink matte shade which has the most beautiful pigmentation. These lipsticks are so affordable I just wish Wet 'n wild was available in the UK other than through amazon, but the formula is really great. I have to say, obviously the wear isn't as amazing as some high-end but I don't need to re-apply unless I've eaten etc. I think this shade is just perfect for Spring time.

I mentioned this a while back as my friends had so kindly bought me this highlighter for my birthday. I literally cannot stop using it. I have a full review here on the highlighter, but to summarize, it's that perfect matte-sheen highlighter with no glitter and a gorgeous honey-champagne tone. It's ideal for those looking for a subtle highlighter (as in not glittery) but one which still gives your face a little light.

I picked up the travel sized version of this product after being recommended it by my fellow blogger friend Sonja. I've literally not stopped using it. I've always been someone who has loved a matte face, however recently I've realised that it's probably not best with my overly dry skin. I have loved using this as a primer after my moisturizer. It just adds a bit more life into your foundation. It's not glittery at all for a strobe cream, and is just pure sheen. I cannot recommend this product enough and a travel size is the perfect size as you don't actually need that much of the product to start with at all, this is going to definitely become a staple in my everyday makeup routine.

Let me know what your April favourites are, and if I've included some of yours!

  7. I love the sound of the strobe cream, especially using it under foundation for a more luminazing effect rather than as a highlight!

    1. I tend to not use cream based products like blushers, highlighters or countour kits as I just can't get them to blend on my skin easily whilst not moving my foundation, so I definitely opted it as a primer rather than a highlighter! xx

    1. I've never heard of Hard Candy but am guessing that's because it's an American brand! Though I did just look at an online swatch and it's literally uncanny how similar they look! What a great dupe! xx
