Product Empties

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you've had a lovely weekend so far, let me know in the comments below what you got up to today! Today I have a blog post which I haven't done for quite a long while, which is an empties post! I've find myself struggling with my recent blog posts and photography, as they aren't the most aesthetically pleasing to take photos of cheap packaging or "used up products" but hey, blogger problem right?

I'm going to start us off with a product most of you will go "what the hell, how is this in an empties post already?" If you follow me on Twitter, you would have seen my little rant about how I couldn't believe that all the product inside my cushion was gone. I picked this foundation up around a month ago, and as I have a lot of foundations on rotation, I probably used this maximum 10 times, and it's finished. I knew there was always going to be an issue with the cushion foundation packaging concept, as it's perfectly obvious that just by looking at it, you don't nearly get as much product as you would in a bottle. Now I have to say firstly, I fricking love this formula. As I'm someone with dry skin, who has quite a lot of freckles nearing the Summer time, I don't particularly like high-coverage foundations as they can become extremely cakey on me. This formula was the only one that didn't ever emphasize any of my dry patches, made my skin look so glowy, and I actually received so many compliments when I wore it. I'm already in contact with L'Oreal like yo, this is being sold for £14.99 and there is nowhere near enough product, so I will let you know how that goes - all I can say is, L'Oreal if you're reading this, please please please, bring this exact formula of the foundation in a bottle. Please.

Next is a product which appears to just make its way into my basket every time I head to Superdrug and that is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I actually have two of these emptied as I like to have two on the go just incase. I'm actually starting to see that as we move to Summer, my skin is being far more drier than usual, and that this concealer isn't settling very well under my eyes. Therefore, I'm going to try out a couple of new ones from the drugstore to see if they can be a little bit more hydrating, as this sadly, although a holy grail, may only work for my Winter months.

As someone with very dry skin blah blah Caroline stop mentioning it, I am always on the look out for the next best exfoliator. I'm obsessed with Lush's Buffy bar, unfortunately, this is not the one. I've heard so many people rave about Rub Rub Rub, all about how it's the most amazing exfoliator and leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft. Unfortunately the only thing I actually liked about this product was the scent, it's very minty and fresh, but I'm so disappointed to say that it did nothing for me! So therefore, I won't be repurchasing it, looks like I'll have to stick with my trusty Buffy bar!

We all know that this is not only a cult favour of mine, but a cult favourite of a lot of Lushaholics out there. To me this is the perfect cleanser, moisturising because of the oils and perfect for sensitive skin. Normally I'm an advocate of repurchasing products, but I've been promising myself that I would branch into new skincare, which will be coming up in a blog post soon, so I haven't repurchased it since I've finished it. However, that is not because I don't love it. This is my holy grail cleanser (for now, who knows what the next one might be like) and therefore, if I don't love my newbie purchase,  I will of course be going back for it! Also tip, always go and buy the bigger tub, you save so much more money and it does last you a lot longer!

It's quite funny, I don't think I actually mention eye liner that often in my blog posts, mainly due to the fact, that since I purchased this one at the beginning of the year, I haven't used any other. I'm someone who suffers with extremely watery eyes during hayfever season and also lacks the ability to draw a straight line on my eyes. Countless times during high school people would always go "you need to rub under your eyes" blah blah blah, so finally I've found myself the perfect eyeliner which does not smudge, budge or fudge up. Love what I did there. This eyeliner is extremely pigmented, a great price and the applicator is so easy to use. Although it probably is more "dried up" than "empty" it's a product I've been repurchasing since. Personally, I prefer it to the L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim, although I did hear it's got a new formula, as the old one I tried was just not pigmented enough!

First Aid Ultra Repair Cream

I've talked about this moisturiser a lot on my blog, and pretty much I've gone through about 4 tubes of it since I first picked it up at the beginning of the year. With moisturisers I tend to need to switch them around every couple of days (I literally have three on rotation) otherwise my skin can get too used to it. This would have to be my favourite of all of the ones I've tried. Ever since I had started to use this, the dry patches around my nose were starting to disappear. This is a great one out there for those who suffer from really flakey/dry/cracked skin. There is a load more of the First Aid repair collection that I need to try - I would warn you though, don't use it everyday non-stop otherwise your skin can easily get used to it and it doesn't then have any more healing properties!

So there we have it, a couple of products that I've used up and managed to keep in a bag somewhere in my bathroom without throwing them away! Obviously I'm going to hold onto the Lush pots for a while until I gather up 3 more, so I can get myself a free fresh mask! Let me know if you've written any empties posts and link them below!

  3. I've religiously repurchased the Loreal Super Liner Perfect Slim for the past three years or so but recently I've struggled with how quickly it seems to dry up. Definitely going to consider the Maybelline Master Precise now! Xo

    1. I think a lot of these do dry up considering they are drugstore, but this does tend to last me a good two months which I think is pretty good going considering I use it everyday! xx

  4. I LOVE that Collection concealer. Love. It. How can it be so great and so cheap?! I love Maybelline Fit Me too - it's a little creamier - maybe it'll suit you for summer?

    1. I did love the scent but I think because I do suffer from such dry skin and only some products tend to work, it's quite annoying but that's just how it works with skin care I guess! xx

  11. I really want to try the Loreal cushion foundation but my shade is always out of stock. It's a shame that there is so little product inside though! I'm never without my Lasting Perfection concealer - it's amazing! I just wish all the writing wouldn't rub off the packaging so easily.

    1. I have to say their shade selection isn't the best and I have to agree it's so hard to get your shade if it's quite common! Haha that is actually one of the main struggles of the concealer! xx

  13. You're not the only one who is ticked off with L'oreal Cushion foundation. It's expensive and you only get half the product, I think it's 15mL which makes it very expensive.
