July Beauty Try-Outs

I've been having a play with a couple of bits I've picked up recently and although the heat today has put me off wearing makeup completely, I'm always up for testing some new bits out, even if it does sweat off my face halfway through the day.

The first product I wanted to mention was the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer. "This light enhancing concealer conceals dark circles and imperfections whilst smoothing and hydrating for 24 hours." Now my readers will know what a massive fan I am of the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, and how it was pretty much my holy grail. Although it still is for covering blemishes, my under-eyes have a new concealer favourite! As I have such dry skin, concealer under my eyes can get really tacky, chalky and creased - however, this concealer has totally changed the game! It's so unbelievably moisturizing and more importantly, brightening! Mine is in the lightest shade 'light; , which I was worried would be wayyyy to light, but it blends very well into the skin. Although it may not have as heavy of a coverage as the Collection one, it definitely is a lot more brightening. Secondly, I am a massive sucker for this packaging. How luxurious does it look? Although it is £8, so a little bit more than the collection concealer, it's definitely worth it! As you can tell from the below swatch, it does have a salmon/pink undertone which also corrects the blue colour under the eyes.

Secondly is the NYX Micro Brow Pencil, something I have had my eyes on for an absolute age. This was always sold out in my colour on feelunique, so once NYX finally came to my local boots I couldn't wait to grab it! Unfortunately, I've picked up the totally wrong colour. Bugger. I picked up Auburn, as chocolate looked far too dark for me, so you know, I picked up a ginger undertoned one. Well I was completely wrong. Apart from the shade, I really love the product itself. When I was testing it out, I really liked how fine the nib on the pencil was. I love the spoolie, so I'm going to keep it just for that (as I've gone somehow 22 years without a spoolie). Overall I really like this, but I'm telling you, don't just swatch it on your hand in the store! I made that mistake...

My cousin went to the States recently and very very kindly picked my up some Wet 'n Wild goodies. We all know what a massive Wet 'n Wild fan I am as I've raved about how amazing their quality is in their brand spotlight post here (we love a Iridescent Places plug in don't we!). She picked me up the  Wet 'n Wild Mega Last Matte Lip Cover 'Bare it All'  as I've been planning a future blog post featuring this lipstick colour very soon. Although not wanting to give too much away, what I can say is that this lipstick formula is just incredible. So creamy, moisturizing (considering it is a matte) and it is long lasting! This is the one that sits in my handbag makeup bag, to top up during the day or if I'm just running out to meet friends and don't want to use a higher-end lipstick for only a couple of hours. It's a very true-nude shade, but with the slightest peach undertone. Very impressed with this one!

Lastly I've been using the Lush Let the Good Times Roll* Body and Face Cleanser. Now I have to admit, I'm still not quite sure how I feel about this product. I think the scent may be a little 'Autumnal' and 'Wintery' for this time of the year as it scented with popcorn and cinnamon. I've been using it for around 5 days in total, however with my skin type, it does take a while to start noticing any differences - however  what I can say is that the very dry patches around my nose have been disappearing recently, so it could be down to this! I will keep you updated on this product and how I get on with it!

So there are a couple of beauty bits I've been trying out this month! You never know if they may turn up in the July favourites post (which is coming around crazily quickly right?!). Let me know if you've tried any of the above products and your thoughts on them!
