3 Looks with Urban Decay Naked 3

The Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette was one of the first high-end products that I ever picked up. I remember feeling oh so very cool when I finally had one of the palettes and as I didn't usually wear a lot of eyeshadow I thought that it would finally let me branch out a little. As I was a little bit scared of dark cool-toned eyeshadow shades, I opted for the palette which had a lot more softer browns, pinks and nudes, typical me, really branching out.

Although I've had the palette for quite a while I'm yet to hit pan on any of the shadows, okay may be down to having far too many palettes but nonetheless I love the palette. I thought I'd share with you three looks that I tend to really use with the palette, steering from natural, to rose gold and to a night out look! Just a lovely diclaimer, because we love these in the blogging world - I am definitely no makeup artist, as you can see my eyeshadow blending is definitely subpar and my mascara does tend to go everywhere on my eyelids, but I just hope that these can give you some sort of idea on how to use the palette! Alas time for the looks!

The Natural Look

On days where I don't feel like going to over the top, but still want a bit more dimension to my makeup look, I opt for this very simple eyeshadow look.

Of course priming my eyelids first, I take the one of the few matte shades 'Strange' and apply it to my entire lid. This makes for a very interesting base shade as it isn't too yellow toned but also not too white in which it can act too much like a highlighter. Using my 'Zoeva 228 Luxe Crease' brush I take a very small amount of the shade 'Nooner' and apply it to my crease. I then use the same brush and make sure to blend it out to the middle part of my eyelid but ensuring that the very bottom lash line still remains lighter.  I think this look is so ideal for day-to-day and I pair it with no eyeliner as I think it just looks a bit more easy-going and natural!

Rose Gold Look

Of course Naked 3 is full of some really intense shimmery shades and I think what puts people off it is the amount of pink shades. I personally love wearing a rose-gold pink look (it's really difficult to not just call it pink-eye look..) and especially in the Summer time this eyeshadow look has been my go to!

I would start off with Limit as my base colour, another one of the few mattes in the palette and then go in with 'Burnout' as my transition shade to really blend it through.

I spray my Zoeva '234 Luxe Smoky Shader' brush with either a little bit of water or Mac Fix+ spray, and use the shade 'Dust' on my lid, but mainly focusing on the inner corner of it. This is a very shimmer/glitter shade so some fall out is expected so definitely recommend adding some moisture onto the brush first!

Lastly I go in with the crease shade. Now usually I much prefer a matte shade to give the eye a bit more dimension, but because 'Dust' is so glitter-like, 'Buzz' acts as a gorgeous cranberry shade to really pack on a bit more definition.

I find this look too works a lot better without any eyeliner as rose-gold and black just doesn't compliment very well although using a bit of 'Buzz' under the waterline works just as well!

Smokey Brown - Night Out

Although quite a pink-based palette, the Naked 3 has some gorgeous warm brown shades which are perfect for me. I've mentioned before that I'm not a fan of cool-toned eyeshadows and therefore my go-to look on a night out will be a brown smokey eye.

Starting off with the shade 'Nooner' again, this is a great nude base but does have quite a intense pigment so don't pick up too much on the brush! 'Liar' is definitely one of my favourite shades in the entire palette as it is a lovely taupe/slight purple toned shimmery brown that goes all over the lid. As this is quite a dramatic evening look, 'Factory' is the perfect all-brown shade to apply in the crease but careful to not apply the shadow too high up to the brow bone like I accidentally did!

For a night out I can't go without an eyeliner and as I am useless with winged liner, i just apply the Maybelline Precise Liquid Liner to my top eyelash line!
