What I've Been Watching

Although my lifestyle posts don't tend to get the highest of readings and comments, they are probably my favourite to read. Firstly because I can just write straight away, but secondly because I don't have to spend a horrific amount of money just to write up a haul makeup piece etc. I did a "What I've been Watching" agggess ago, and thought I'd do a little update on the stuff I've been loving.

I'm pretty sure most people have heard about this Netflix original that pretty much took the world by a storm when it came out. A thrilling science-fiction TV show, it follows the story of a group of young boys. One night, one of their friends goes missing and the group of boys, family members and authorities unravel a chilling story of what happened to him, with the help of one very special unique girl called Eleven or 'El'. I'm not usually one for scary movies or science fiction, I find them quite unbelievable but there was something very captivating about this tv show. Even as a 22 year old I was terrified to watch this when nobody was at home just because it really does make the hair on your arms stand on end. Like guys it's got 9.1 on imdb, dat's a lot! I highly recommend this show - best thing is, obviously that you can binge watch it on Netflix!

I haven't followed much of the Real Housewives franchise, but recently I've been obsessed with watching the Real Housewives of New Jersey lately. Season 7 launched on hayu with Teresa Guidice coming home from prison, and you can just imagine the drama that unfolds. What I love about these shows is that these are grown up women throwing around shade and hate, all because "someone said something to someone which sounded like something and now that somebody is angry at that other somebody" - I mean seriously, these are adults, it makes for great TV that's for sure! If you haven't heard of hayu, it's a reality TV streaming service, which has loads of TV shows like the Real Housewives franchise, Shahs of Sunset and Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Most importantly, they air the TV shows within 24 hours of the US tx date - heck yeah!

The Olympics - BBC

The Olympics is definitely something that you wouldn't be able to avoid watching if you tried. I have to admit though, in the previous years I hadn't really watched most of the events, however since living with my Aunt and Uncle for the past couple of months, whose last names are England (yup very patriotic) we've been watching the events nearly every night without fail! There's something about watching the Olympics though that makes you feel so darn patriotic. My favourite events so far would be diving, swimming, gymnastics and running. Can we just get a hell yeah to Team GBR? 16 gold medals - the question is...could we finish ahead of China in the Olympics...?

Pretty Little Liars - Netflix

I feel as if Pretty Little Liars is just one of those TV shows that will forever continue. Now on season 7, I feel as if I'm kind of only watching it...because I have to? I know that there are a lot of die-hard PLL fans out there but I kind of feel as if this has been such a long running TV show and it's kind of on it's last legs (tell me if I'm wrong and I should just pipe the hell down!) but for me I just don't think I could hack another season. I absolutely loved the show up to around Season 5, but then it just started dragging out loads! I'd love to know if any of you are good old PLL fans and whether or not you think it's run its course.

So there we have it, a couple of TV shows that I've been watching lately! Let me know what you've been watching and if you have any recommendations! If this month's anything to go by, I've got a very mixed lot of genres; sports, reality, science-fiction and teen drama so send anything my way!

  5. I'm TOTALLY obsessed with the Olympics at the moment, every moment that I'm at home you can sure bet it'll be on my TV haha!
I feel you on the PLL front too, I'm literally just watching it because I've stuck with it for so long. I can't wait for it to be over, although this season has finally got juicy. x

  6. I'm so with you on PLL. I was obsessed with it for seasons and I loved it, but I haven't even watched the new season yet because it's just getting a bit ridiculous now - I can't even keep up. It's sad because it was probably my favourite TV show. I will watch the new season, I think it's best to watch it in bulk. I'm very tempted to get Hayu.

  7. I completely agree with you on PLL. Season 5 was amazing especially the doll house episodes but since then I just think they have dragged the story line on. I still have no idea who AD is though!! x

  8. I really need to watch Stranger Things! Heard so much about it but I'm so bad at watching things if they aren't on my actual tv lol. I am however obsessed with the olympics and won't know what to do with myself next week when it finishes!

  9. I loved Stranger Things, Netflix does such a good job with their original series! I gave up on Pretty Little Liars a few seasons ago but it used to be one of my faves. When it finally ends I think I'll binge watch the series.

  11. PPL fan! I've seen it already twice and still love this show. And season 5? The best one I think. Hopefully the season 7 won't be a disaster.

  12. I'm a big PLL fan but I get what you mean about it being on for a while, I find its getting a bit repetitive but I'm still religiously watching! Stranger things sounds so good but I'm such a wimp when it comes to scary things!

  13. I really want to watch Stranger Things! There are so many shows I want to watch, but just can't find the time to watch everything. PLL Is definitely a show I watch only because I've watched it for so long that I want to know what happens, but it really is dragging on. I do like that they forwarded a few years though.

  15. I LOVE watching the Olympics! The gymnastics have been incredible this year I have been glued to the television! Really need to start watching PLL I have heard so so much about it! The thought of it having so many seasons does put me off slightly, it feels like such a big commitment haha! Xo

  16. Hm, Stranger Things sounds like something I'll have to check out. As far as Pretty Little Liars go, please keep watching it. The summer finale was this week, and they announced that the show will end next year. PLL is a commitment because it can drag at times, but I promise you, it's worth it. Don't let go haha!
