3 Concealers To Try

With my long commutes concealer has pretty much become a holy grail product everyday. I will not leave the house without it because otherwise I look sick/really hungover. Or tired. Either one. Basically I look like shi*t without it. I tend to use concealers for three different things, hence the three concealers that you need in your makeup collection.

Firstly, concealer is amazing at covering up blemishes. Although foundation does cover up a majority of them, if you've got one of those really bad spots, there's nothing better than a high coverage concealer to get rid of it. Secondly, as someone with quite blotchy skin, a concealer is great at covering up an uneven skin tone. Lastly, concealer is much needed at brightening up my under eyes.

Firstly brightening the under eyes. I used to use another concealer for under my eyes, but I've quickly changed to this concealer being my favourite. The Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer is a medium coverage concealer which has an amazing formula. As someone with dry skin I find that a lot of high coverage concealers under my eyes crease and dry up, however this concealer is very moisurising and if set properly, it doesn't crease as much as others. I use the shade 'light' which has some salmon/pink undertones which counter-acts the blue under eyes as well!

The Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer was a firm favourite a couple of months ago and I've finally just picked it up again. This definitely isn't a light enough coverage for under the eyes I find, however this is such a great concealer to cover up blotchy skin. As you can tell from the swatches, it matches my skin tone so well and gives my foundation that extra layer where my skin is a bit more red (around my nose and on my chin). I don't particularly like wearing a seriously heavy foundation just to cover up a little bit of redness, so by using just a little bit of this, it gives me a tiny bit more coverage without being cakey. This is just a lovely concealer for those with dry skin as it is very light and moisturising.  I know a lot of people aren't a fan of the sponge applicator, however for me, I really love it as it applies the concealer with ease.

Lastly is my favourite spot covering concealer. Most people will recognize this concealer as it's always the one where the name on the packaging fades off, ahh blogger problems. The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is a high coverage and very budget friendly concealer. Originally I would use this under my eyes, however I found that because it was such high coverage it did crease and dries a bit more than the Bourjois one. Saying that, I love using this on any blemishes as it really does cover them up and powder doesn't settle on it when you try and set your entire face. As it is a little bit more lightening, it gets rid of the angry redness of any spots as well!

There we have it! Three concealers that you definitely have to try to get rid of under eyes circles, spots and red skin. Let me know in the comments below what some of your favourite concealers are!

  15. Collection is not easily available here in Canada and Bourjois is just way pricey for a drugstore brand hence I have yet to try that concealer. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind and FitMe are two concealers that I have repurchased multiple times, they are seriously amazing.
