Best of Single Eyeshadows

I have to admit, I love eyeshadow palettes. Eyeshadow palettes for me are so convenient, easy to travel with, worth the money and just less hassle to store than single eyeshadows. However, saying that, there are a few exceptions where single eyeshadows just rule over palettes. I've collected a couple of my all time favourite single eyeshadows in my collection and I'm here to tell you why you need them in your life.

Without going into too much detail, because I know I talk about these a lot, but for good reason - The Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoos. Now admittedly, I've never worn one of these for 24 hours so am unsure if they actually last that long, however they do last a heck of a long time on the eyelids. I own the two shades 'Rose Gold' and 'On and On Bronze' (twuo of the most cliche shades out of the range) and I really think they are a staple for everyone's makeup collection. I mentioned these in my Best Under £10 Drugstore Beauty Products blog post and they still remain my favourites. They are so creamy, so pigmented and you get so much product inside of them.

Another on the cream eyeshadow pot front is the KIKO Cream Eyeshadow 01. This has made it into the favourites because like the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, it provides a lovely base for your eyeshadows. Although this isn't the most intense shade, as it is quite a neutral base, the formula is incredible and it glides onto the eyelids so well, meaning that your eyeshadow applies effortlessly. My one tiny tiny gripe is that the pot is a little bit smaller than the Maybelline one so it can be quite difficult if you have big fingers to get the product out, but once you do it's definitely worth it!

Onto the actual powder eyeshadows, and another golden gem from KIKO is the Long-Lasting Wet & Dry Use Eyeshadow '208 - Light Gold'. Firstly, can we just appreciate how stunning this product is in the pan? It's practically eye wateringly beautiful! I'm a massive fan of Gold eyeshadow when it comes to Winter and Christmas time. I think it can look really elegant and when the gold shade is just right aka not too yellow toned can look so sophisticated with a red lip. I hadn't tried many wet and dry eyeshadows so was a little intrigued when it came to this one. I'm an idiot for not including a swatch in the post of the difference between wet and dry (will try and insert when I get home). This is such a beautiful shimmered powder, very very pigmented and if you spray your eyeshadow brush with either water or Mac Fix + spray, really packs on the colour. I am forever impressed with KIKO's products and always rave about how amazing they are, considering how affordable they are too!

When I wanted to purchase my first Mac eyeshadow I remember being highly dissapointed by the matte shades. I remember them not being very pigmented and very powdery so kind of went off buying them. That was until I saw they came out with the Mac Extra Dimension Eyeshadow 'Amorous Alloy'. I remember swatching this in store and being so wowed with how creamy and pigmented it was. This isn't exactly a shimmery shadow or matte, it's somewhere inbetween so if you aren't a fan of glitter and shimmer but still want a bit of bam, this is for you! I would have to say, this is one of my all-time favourites in my entire collection. Out of all the single eyeshadows, if I had to keep one, it would be Amorous Alloy. This is a stunning copper shadow, perfect for Autumn time.

Next is a bit of an odd eyeshadow I'm adding in here. I received this in a beauty subscription box and wasn't too impressed with the colour they had chosen. This is the Nars Single Matte Eyeshadow 'Grenadine' . I remember first looking at this eyeshadow, thinking it must have been a blush. Although I wasn't a fan of the shade off the bat, I was a fan of the formula. This is a very lovely creamy pwodered eyeshadow and the pigment definitely packs a punch. I've been wanting to try out a couple more of the Nars eyeshadows especially there Isolde duo palette. Although I wasn't a fan of the colour initially, I have managed to make it work as a great crease shade for whenever I create a rose-gold eyeshadow look to add a bit more depth.

Finally is the Seventeen Mono Eyeshadow 'Rose Quartz' For less than £4 this has to be one of the best eyeshadow formulas for that price that I have ever tried. I mentioned this shadow in the same Best Under £10 drugstore post here and just raved on and on about how amazingly pigmented this shadow is. If you're someone on a budget, or someone who doesn't really want to venture into eyeshadows and pay a lot, seriously give Seventeen a try!
