My Favourites: August

Not only has another month gone by but an entire season. Yesterday we said goodbye to Summer and hello to chunky knits, cozy socks, hot chocolate and crunchy leaves. Can you tell I'm much more of an Autumnal person here? In August I didn't do a lot of spending at all as I'm moving to London in October into my flat and need to be saving up for exciting things like mattresses, sofas, bedside tables and lamps. How thrilling! So I kind of went through my makeup collection and tried to find old products to fall in love with again.

Marc Jacobs Daisy is one of the perfumes that I can literally only wear in the Summer. I have to say, it's a very sweet and floral scent, and may not be for everyone, but I really love wearing this out and about in the Summer time. It stays on the skin for the whole day and it's just something that screams out Summer to me. Not only is this a favourite, but I actually managed to finish it this month too which is super sad because the bottle is so pretty! I probably won't be repurchasing until next Summer as like I said, it's far too floral even for Autumn so am on the lookout for a new perfume - send me your recommendations!

The KIKO Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick '06' has been an amazing eyeshadow stick that I've been using very often this month. Although it swatches quite dark and you'd think it makes more of an evening colour/winter colour by applying it all over my lid and blending it out with a fluffy crease brush and applying a lighter white shade in the inner corner, I'm able to create quite a natural taupe/brown/copper eye look which just so effortless but actually makes it look like you made an effort. My favourite type of makeup look! These are seriously some great eyeshadow sticks, I personally wouldn't spend the money on the ByTerry ones because I seriously think these make a great alternative. I don't particularly need to prime my eyelids beforehand, though saying that I do have quite dry eyelids, but they last the entire day. There are so many different shades to chose from as well.

Another KIKO eye product I've been loving this month is the KIKO Cream Eyeshadow in 01. This makes for such a great eyeshadow base. Along the same lines as the Mac paint pots and the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, I'm so impressed with this formula. I've been wearing this under most eyeshadows when I opt for a light shimmer or rose gold shade. It can act as a great primer and eyeshadows sit so flawlessly on top of it!

My lip product favourite of this month is no surprise. I picked up the  NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme 'London' at the beginning of this month and has already featured in my 'The Best Of Nudes' blog post. For a good reason. I really love this lip product. It's an amazing formula, so comfortable to wear and the mousse texture means it applies like an absolute dream to your lips without being cakey. It's such a true brown nude that I reckon it could compliment so many different skin tones whether your dark or light as it doesn't have many undertones in it.

The Rimmel Sculpting Palette by Kate Moss 'Coral Glow' has definitely been loved a lot this month. I experienced a very sad breakout and rash this month on my face trust me it was a really great look - due to the heat and highlighter was kind of a no-go area as they tend to really emphasize the skin's texture. However I of course couldn't completely bypass highlighter and the highlighter in this little trio is so great. If you're someone who isn't a fan of the 'kapow' highlighter, as yes, they can be a little daunting, this is such a natural finish without giving off too much sparkle and glitter. The contour shade is amazing as it doesn't appear muddy, grey or orange on my skin tone and blends so effortlessly. The blush made for a perfect summer coral glow and looked so natural on the skin because the pigmentation wasn't too light or too heavy. I took this with me on my trip to Zurich last week because it's just so handy to take away as it's like having three products all together and is so compact!

Let me know in the comments below firstly, one product you loved this August and also one reason why you are/aren't excited for Autumn! Happy September lovelies!

    1. Oh no!! What don't you like about them? I think they're definitely the oddest of consistency and I don't know if I would like it in a darker colour but with lighter shades I do! xx

    1. Aww that's so lovely! That's quite funny my mum absolutely hates the smell, she's more of a citrus type perfume wearer - and won't let me go near her if I'm wearing it! (So dramatic ;) ) xx

    1. I know what you mean, Flowerbomb and Chloe (my other two faves) are a little bit floral but I think are still more wearable most times of the year, whereas Daisy is just that bit too sweet to wear any other time! xx
