New Beauty Tryouts

In the past couple of weeks I've been trying out a couple new products in my beauty regime that I thought I would post about. Although I tend to stick with my same-old beauty regime most days, if I buy or receive new products I cannot wait to test them out and practically only use those products for 2 weeks straight.

One of the first products is actually a brow palette that I picked up agggessss ago, The Rimmel London Brow This Way. I only just finished up my Wet 'n Wild eyebrow kit and finally opened this brand new little kit. I really love the formula of the powder in the pan, it's very pigmented and there isn't a lot of fall-out at all, which obvs is a real bonus when it comes to brows. My one issue is the colour. The colour is so so off. I picked it up in 'middle brown' - this is not brown. What I loved about my Wet 'n Wild palette is that the brown was so perfect, it was a little ashy which really suited my colouring. This however is ginger. There is a lot of auburn undertones in the powder and can really make your eyebrows look...well...ginger. I'm actually going to stop using this product as I find it too much hard work to pair with an eyeshadow/spoolie out so I personally wouldn't recommend this shade, unless you do have auburn brows that is!

Next are two Makeup Forever lipsticks. I was so excited when I was asked if I wanted to try out the Makeup Forever Artist Rouge Mat Lipsticks* because I mean who hasn't heard of this brand - but also am yet to try any of their products. Seeing as we were nearing to Autumn, I decided to pick out the two following shades: M102 and M402 I'm utterly obsessed with this formula. These are such high quality matte lipsticks and you can really just tell how beautiful they are because of how they wear. I find that sometimes my Mac matte lipsticks are quite drying but these wear so comfortably on the lips. I adore the packaging of this product as well, it's sleek and feels robust, not plastic at all. My one problem is that because the bottom of the lipstick is a little bit bigger, I can't fit these in my acrylic lipstick holders! I can however fit them upside down, so not the end of the world. I've wanted to try a lot more products by Makeup Forever including their Ultra HD foundation.

Next is the Spectrum 10 Piece Essential Kit*. I did a first impressions blog post on the kit here but now I've been testing out the brushes for a good two weeks I can officially say I am in love. It's no wonder these won an award in the Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards 2016 because they are seriously lush. Although there are a couple of the brushes in the kit that I don't see myself using at the moment, like the A09 and A15, the others I cannot stop using. I've been using the A05 Small Angled Brush everyday to apply my contour and am seriously loving it. It works so well with picking up the product and the bristles are so soft that it blends so effortlessly. This is a beauty try-out that I am definitely obsessed with!

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll notice I don't actually ever really speak about hair on my blog. This is mainly due to the fact that I don't actually ever do much with it.When  it was longer I would literally only ever wash and blow dry every morning, styling it was impossible so I didn't really bother. About a month ago I got a balayage (still really need to update my profile pictures ) and ever since I've noticed I've had to style my hair everyday. I was invited to the Supercuts UK #SquadGoals event in Kensington a couple of weeks ago where my hair was styled by their lovely team and was given a good old pampering. There's a competition which you can enter here to win a pamper and VIP treatment for you and your friends as well! Here I was treated to a couple of Bed Head TGI goodies including the Big Head Volume Boosting Foam* Anyone who knows me knows that I have extremely flat hair. My hair doesn't do volume nor does it attempt to do volume. I've been trying this out the couple of times that I've curled my hair, putting the product in after curling it, and I've really been loving what it does to my hair. It gives it a bit more oomph and much more texture. Although not a massive fan of the smell (has a faint scent of coconut) I do love the product.

I hope you enjoyed reading this sort of post, I would love to know what product you've been tried and testing this month and whether you've come across any disappointing or amazing products! Let me know in the comments below!

  3. I think it is super hard to find an affordable brow products for brunettes in the correct shade. So far I have had luck only with the Benefit products. that deep red lipstick though looks super nice. I think this is the only makeup product I can never get enought.

    1. I'm more like a bronde hair shade at the moment so it's really hard, everything is either too dark or too light or ginger? It's totally disappointing! You can never have too many red lipsticks! Agreed! xx
