2 Mac Lipstick Dupes

Who doesn't love a dupe? Although there's something very special about buying a high end product, sometimes it's just not an option to fork out. Aka me the week before payday. I personally am always up for buying an alternative and cheaper option of something so I don't need to fork out as much money and especially if the quality is just as good! Today I'm going to be sharing two accidental mac lipstick dupes that I've come by. By accidental I mean, I purchased my mac ones, and then obviously when shopping for some lippies and was like "oohhhh I love this shade" get home and basically realised that they are near to identical to my other ones. Ugrh such is life.

Firstly is the all so very famous Mac 'Velvet Teddy'. This is an acclaimed beauty cult favourite lipstick shade and if you're looking for something a bit on the cheaper side, I've got the perfect shade for you. The Wet 'n Wild shade in 'Bare it All' is a seriously close shade. Equally as matte, it's just a slighter peached toned shade. I love this as a dupe because on the lips it definitely looks closer to being a dupe than when swatched. Velvet Teddy has a slight brown undertone to it but you can't deny that these two look very similar. Although the packaging of the Wet 'n Wild lipsticks aren't as luxurious as the Mac ones, but the longevity for a £2 lipstick is amazing. Okay, one downside. You can't actually get your hands on Wet 'n Wild in the UK easily yet. There are a couple of online shops and sometimes amazon as well but if you're making a trip to the States or Switzerland (weirdly it's sold there...) take a looksie!

Mac 'Twig' is another of my all time favourite neutral shades during the Autumn time because it has a lovely taupe purple shade. Rimmel Kate Moss '08' is a shade so close to twig. Twig is a satin finish but is a little bit more matte than the Rimmel Kate Moss shade. It's also the tiniest bit darker as you can see form the swatch, but the undertones are identical in shades and if you apply another layer of the Rimmel one, it's literally identical.

Left to Right: Mac 'Velvet Teddy', Wet 'n Wild 'Barely There. Mac 'Twig' , Rimmel London '08'
Let me know in the comments below if you'd like me to do some more dupe posts! I've got a few more in mind! Have you found any other Mac lipstick dupes accidentally (or not accidentally)?

  9. Thanks for sharing this! I've been wanting to try Twig but I'm not really sure if it's the color for me, and the price; eep. Maybe I could try Rimmel's one to test the water first ;)

  10. Those look incredibly similar, especially the Velvet Teddy dupes! My drugstore only has the smallest Wet n Wild section but I'll look for Bare it All! The closest MAC dupe I've found is Nyx Snowcap and MAC Hue.

  19. I'm not a fan of Velvet Teddy as it's too pale for me. I LOVE MAC Retro though, it's a gorgeous fall reddish-brown shade, and I found that Wet n Wild's Spiked With Rum!
