Is the Hype Real?

Okay, firstly, yes. I know. It's been a while. My flat has been an absolute disaster and I've kind of been having mini breakdowns because I've never been so stressed in my entire life (you can bet there will be a future blog post on this).I finally had some time to  take some photos and write this posts in the midst of the stress and hell- so I'm here to tell you my thoughts on a couple of products that have been/are very hyped up and whether they are worth the hype -

Unless you've been living under a rock, you'd have 100% heard of the beautiful Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadows and just how amazing they are. And they are. When I picked these up a while ago, I was a little bit dubious of how amazing these really could be and made me question whether I really needed to make an online purchase which required customs charges etc etc. I am so so happy I made that executive decision to press 'checkout'. They are only $5 which is an absolute bargain, but are so creamy and pigmented you won't believe. For now I only have two shades 'La La' and 'Weenie', and I just cannot get enough of them. You just can't really describe how creamy they feel, the texture is bouncy and the application is effortless! The hype is real.

The Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoos are a product that I feel pretty much every beauty blogger/person has owned, because they are just a staple in everyone's collection. They've appeared many-a-times on this blog, featuring in my all time favourite drugstore posts, all time favourite eye products posts and will feature every so often in a monthly favourites. I think what makes these so great, is the fact that they are an amazing base, and perfect for anyone who wants to delve into eyeshadows, but is scared of the whole blending bit. I really do think these are worth the drugstore hype because they are just an all rounder of a good eyeshadow product with great pigmentation and a lovely array of different colours.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara I'm sure everyone is sick and tired of hearing about this mascara, and especially from me, because I do know that I've featured it a hell of a lot on this blog. I know that a lot of people are a little bit indifferent about this product and I kind of understand why. When you first buy the mascara, it's got quite a wet formula and it can leave your eyelashes quite chunky to begin with. However, after around 3 weeks, it seriously becomes the most amazing mascara. It dries up a little bit meaning the product curls and applies onto your eyelashes without clumping too much. I do totally agree that it is worth the hype, but only a little bit after buying it!

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray was a bit of a splurge for me. I had never really felt the  need to get a setting spray, but had heard such great reviews around this one that I felt as if I was truly missing out on something great. I absolutely loved this spray because it sprayed with a very fine mist and really did keep your makeup lasting. For girls with dry skin, this makes your foundation look more alive and that little bit more glowy as well, without compromising your base. However, when you do get nearer to the end of the bottle beware, the mist doesn't spray so fine so beware!

Mac Velvet Teddy is another totally hyped up product, I remember being unable to find this in stock in what seemed like every Mac and Debenhams on the highstreet. I basically looked to sell my soul to get a hold of this. Okay yes, the hype is real with this one. This to me, is my perfect nude. I praise Mac for coming up with a lovely comfortable matte lipstick that I feel is timeless and I can wear with any eye makeup look and it just looks classy and effortless.

Around 3 years ago (2 years ago?Rimmel Kate Moss 107 this was literally the red lipstick to get your hands on. With the likes of Tanya Burr and Zoella using it in their Autumnal makeup routine and raving about it, I have to admit, I totally bought into the hype with this one. I adore the colour and think it's a shade that can be worn throughout the year. My one little gripe is yes, it can be a little drying as pieces of it kind of clump up and doesn't wear the best throughout the day, but it is a drugstore product and I do think if you line your lips properly and prep them it's worth the hype.

Top to Bottom: Mac 'Velvet Teddy', Rimmel '107'
Lastly is another Rimmel product, the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder  I think has been a cult favourite for years on years. I love this product as it's affordable and can set your makeup looking flawless. I have tried some pricier and loose powders as well, and personally I am yet to find one that I am completely blown away by as they kind of give me the same final finish. Although saying that, when you do start hitting pan, this is not a travel friendly product as it will smash into pieces!

Okay, I think I've chatted enough, have I sold any of these to you? Let me know if you think the above are or aren't worth the hype! I personally love hearing it if people have different
