Colourpop Haul

I'm finding taking photos during this time of the year extremely difficult and currently am having massive issues with my Canon lens which is extremely infuriating so please excuse a) the lack of blog posts during the past week b) the sub par quality and c) my inability to keep a calm/cool and collective front.

Regardless of the fact I'm having to use filler posts until my lens is fixed I am so excited to share with you a load of new Colourpop goodies added into my beauty collection! As you know from my last Colourpop haul here I'm obsessed with the brand already and if I could order from it daily without there being a ridiculous custom charges, I would.

I already have two Lippie Stix from Colourpop but I had to get Creature and the matching Lip Liner in my collection because I thought it was too stunning of a colour! I love a dark vampy lip and this is a sultry, fierce red for the world dominator.

I also picked up the highlighter Churro which I remember selling out numerous times when it was launched on the website. I wish I had seen a swatch of the product on the website because I have to admit that this is quite a dark gold highlighter for me and think it may be that little bit too dark unless I blend it out. It would make a stunning brow-bone highlighter or eye shadow as well, but would recommend that if you're very pale that this would be too dark!

I'm usually only a fan of powdered blushers as I don't particularly like any other formula of blushers but had heard so many people raving about Between The Sheets  and was so intrigued by the colour. Because I knew how unique the formula of Colourpop products are, I was a little stumped on how I could use this product. Usually I use a blush brush for blushers, but with Colourpop you're much better off by using your fingers. It's taken some getting used to, but this girly matte blush gives me such an effortless and subtle flushed look.

I knew there was no way around getting more eye shadows. This time I went a little bit bolder, picking up another two shadows from KathleenLights collection including; Porter & Cornelius.
Porter is definitely a little bit out of my comfort zone, a warm burgundy with a load of purple undertone with a metallic and gold glitter finish. I think this is definitely an eyeshadow for either New Years or Christmas drinks.

I had not tried any of the matte finished eyeshadows but this was too pretty to not chose. I know I own a lot of nude eyeshadows, but Cornelius looks very different in real life than it does on the website, it's much more of a light caramel/toffee shade which I think works so well all over the lid. Although I have to say the pigmentation isn't as impressive as the other shimmer shadows I've tried, the formula is still on par.

Let me know in the comments below a) how you deal with crap lighting when you work full time and need to take photos during the week and b) what I should pick up next from Colourpop!

  6. I really need to check out those highlighters, although probably not the one you picked up ;) they do plain ones that are paler so I'm considering picking those up!

  9. This is a great haul! I have only tried a couple of stuff from ColorPop and I love them all. The only issue I have is custom charges, it seems like delivery to Canada always invoke extra fees. :-(

  12. I have Cornelious and while I like it, I find the formula not as nice and soft as the other shimmer shadows from Colourpop.

  14. Churro is one of my favourite highlighters- on my skin tone it's spot-on!
    a) I don't take photos during the week :( probably not the most helpful answer but I just plan ahead during winter so I take my photos in bulk
    b) you should definitely try the Ultra Satin Lips! They look like matte liquid lipsticks but feel like a normal creamy lipstick formula :) my favourites are Calypso and Echo Park
