The Season where I seem to experiment the most when it comes to makeup is Winter. I mean I'm not talking purple eye shadow and blue lips, but I tend to dabble in a couple of nearly black lipsticks and burnt orange/red shadows. However, recently I've been loving going back to the basics and a couple of beauty bits will just forever be my go-to's for a neutral look.
My one and only Too Faced palette is the Natural Eyes Palette and it's one that I've really loved for a long time. If I'm going away for a weekend this is generally the palette I will take with me. You can literally make every warm neutral eyeshadow look. For the daytime, a mixture of Heaven, Silk Teddy and Cashmere bunny make a gorgeous brightening combo. For a brown neutral eye, Nudie and Cashmere Bunny in the crease or for an evening look, Push up with Chocolate Martini in the crease is perfect for a smokey eye look. The pigmentation of the shadows are the usual high standard from Too Faced.
Mac Velvet Teddy is of course a cult favourite most days, but I've been sticking to wearing it in the evenings. However if you're looking for one of those 'no lipstick kind of lipsticks' the Clinique Nude Pop is a beautiful cremesheen formula that looks perfect with nearly every eyeshadow look.
If I'm going back to basics I tend to stay clear from colour correcting as I'll be more inclined to wearing a lighter base like my Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation and colour correctors don't tend to sit well under those. Instead, I love using the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer for a more subtle and hydrating under-eye concealer.
Going back to neutrals also includes a very neutral blush in my opinion and therefore I either tend to stick with my Milani 'Luminoso' Blusher or the beautiful Benefit Rockateur Blush as these aren't at all "in your face" but provide just enough amount of 'flush' to the cheeks.
Let me know what products you use to go back to basics or if you're someone who is still donning those berry lips and smokey eyes!
I used to adore the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette, it has the perfect shades in it for everyday wear! Must dig it back out xo

I definitely go through phases between going a bit mad with experimenting and really pairing it back for that no makeup look. Absolutely love that Too Faced palette, one of my faves!

Love this post! I have only tried the Too Faced Chocolate Bar and Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar palettes. My go to nude lipstick right now is Bite Beauty Honeycomb. More neutrally pink is MAC Faux. I do adore Velvet Teddy, and Twig as well I just forget that I own them. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see more blog posts you put out!

I really want to try the Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer, it looks and sounds fab! I've started pairing down my makeup this last month too and I've enjoyed wearing a softer look for everyday x

Gorgeous photo as always 😍 I usually love whipping out the berry lips but this year I've been going very natural. I like a light foundation, bold brows, and a winged liner. I've been skipping blush and just opting for a light swipe of some highlight. Dewy fresh face in the fullness of winter haha. But I'm starting to break out some berry lips starting with CT Bond Girl!

I love neutrals! I swatched Clinique Nude Pop the other day actually and really liked the look of it, as well as a couple of others from that range. But nobody came to assist me so I had to leave empty handed! Hopefully I will get my hands on it soon. x

I absolutely love Velvet Teddy!

I often find myself going back to basics a lot since I prefer natural rather than over the top. I really like using maybelline colour tattoos as an all over the lid and then just using concealer and mascara.
