Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit 'Candy K'

Truth be told, I'm very very very excited that I've actually managed to get a hold of a Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit, and I'm feeling pretty smug about it, oh and just in time too with the new season coming out this Sunday on E! Originally I wasn't all about the hype of the Kyle cosmetics but I'd heard so many different reviews on her cosmetics I knew I had to try them myself.

I currently own the Kylie Cosmetic Lip Kit' Candy K'. Candy K is a very dusty mauvey nude/pink shade which I think is such a beautiful everyday shade. I knew that I would have to chose a colour I would want to wear on a regular basis and this was the one I was most drawn to. Shock, it's a pink nude. Because I totally don't own enough of those.

I'm sure you all know that the Kylie Cosmetic Lip Kits come with a Matte Liquid Lipstick and a Pencil Lip Liner to match.

To me the pencil lip liner is definitely what stands out to me when it comes to this lip kit. It's very creamy, very similiar to the Colourpop liners and doesn't drag at all. You can wear the lip liners on their own as well as they are extremely pigmented and long lasting. My lip liner matches the colour perfectly, which you don't tend to get with some lip kits such as the Barry M one. It's a big thumbs up from me!

The actually liquid lipstick is impressive, however I'm not going to lie, I think on paar with the Barry M in terms of formula. It's quite a watery consistency, nothing like a Nyx Soft Matte Creme, so it can be quite challenging to easily apply, but the doe foot applicator makes it that little bit easier. They dry down completely matte which is great if you're really looking for that solid matte look.It also only takes 2 layers for a complete opaque look, maybe even 1 if I completely colour in my lips with the liner, whereas some like a NYX soft Matte Creme will take me around 3 layers. I reckon I can get a good 5-6 hours wear without topping up, and although they don't crumble as much as some liquid lipsticks, they still do on the inner-edges which is to be expected after 6 hours with breakfast, lunch and a coffee...maybe a chocolate bar.

So far I'm a big fan of this lip kit and not going to lie, I will be wearing it on a regular basis purely because I think it is such a stunning shade. I would say however, I will be doing a strong comparison between a Barry M lip kit and this one on the blog and quick spoiler, I wouldn't be upset about missing out on these and paying those customs charges!
Let me know in the comments below if you have a Kylie Cosmetic lip kit and what your thoughts are!

  1. I heard so many mixed reviews about these lip kits so I haven't bought one yet, but I can't deny that those gorgeous shades are very tempting! xx

  4. It's a pretty shade! I'd rather look into a dupe, though Barry M isn't easily available here. I'm sure Colourpop has a similar one! :)

  6. I'd love to try these, they sound like you need to make your own personally opinion on them. I think if they were easier to get hold of and didn't come with extra charges I'd try them, but I feel like I can probably get something just as good or better without all the extra faff. Maybe one day though, I can only avoid the hype without trying them myself for so long....

  8. The colour is amazing but I'm still not sure how I feel about the Kylie Lip Kits, they seem so overpriced for the quality they are. I can easily purchase an £8 Gerard Cosmetics liquid lipstick with a 1 layer matter finish that lasts 8 hours. However, the fact that you get a lip liner does slightly justify the price and the packaging is stunning x
