NYX Professional Makeup at Debenhams Haul

If you read my blog you'll know that I'm a massive drugstore makeup fan and in one brand particular that always manages to get my heart going, is NYX Professional Makeup. I'm so excited because NYX Professional Makeup has just launched at Debenhams and I've been very kindly sent a couple of their best selling products *drools* to give a bit of a rundown on them.

First of all let's talk palettes! The Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette* was the first product that really caught my eye, you know how I feel about highlighters. This palette reminds me of the Sleek highlighter palettes, but I know I will probably get a lot more use out of this one mainly because it's all powdered products. There are 7 gorgeous highlighter shades in the palette, ranging from golden to purple shades to create that effortless strobing effect. The highlighters aren't chunky at all and have just a pure sheen to them. My favourite shades so far have to be the Cool Toned Light Pink Shimmer and the True Champagne with Shimmer.

The Ultimate Shadow Palette - Cool Neutrals* is a palette that I reckon will go down a storm for those who are just trying to get into makeup. I didn't think I'd actually get a lot of use out of the palette, but I'm quite smitten with the shades. It has an array of soft and buttery shades which allow you to make a variety of looks whether it be a cool-toned smokey silver eye with the lower half of the palette, or more of a day-time look with the warmer champagne toned shadows in the upper half.

The next palette is what you would call your 'easy travel palette'. The Contour Intuitive Palette - Jewel Queens* contains six eyeshadows, two pearly highlighters and one blush. I ADORE the peachy blush in this palette, as it just screams Summer to me. This is such a unique palette in my opinion as there are a couple more stand-out shades like purple and blue for those who like to work with brighter and bolder colours. The highlighter is a bit too white for my skin tone as I tend to go for more champagne shades, but for those who are much paler, I reckon this would look gorgeous!

To me when I think of NYX Professional Makeup I think lip products. I fell head over heels in love with their Soft Matte Lip Creams and was so excited to finally try out a couple more of their best selling lip products. One which is perfect for those gloss-lovers is the Butter Gloss 'Strawberry Parfait' *. Talk about a Summer ready product. If you're heading off on a last minute Summer holiday you have to pick this up. Glosses are so effortless and I just love that this still has a pretty pink pigment running through it.

Taking us a bit into Autumn is the Lip Lingerie 'Exotic'*. I wore this yesterday and I cannot even tell you how much I am in love with this shade. The lip lingeries steer more on the drying side of liquid lipsticks compared to the Soft Matte and Liquid Suede formula, so if you suffer with dry lips I would recommend buying the latter. The Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick 'Downtown Beauty'*  is what I would call your throwback 90's shade, it's a deep brown shade which I'm not quite sure if it will suit my skin tone but I adore the formula so will definitely be hunting through the Liquid Suede range! The Soft Matte formula is one of my favourites. I would describe it as a squishy/bouncy mousse like formula, very comfortable and a bonus, it smells of vanilla. I actually don't have a mauvey purple shade in my liquid lipstick collection so I can tell I'm going to get a lot of use out of the Soft Matte Lip Cream 'Budapest' *

I've been on the look out for a new primer and I thought I would go right in the deep end by using the NYX Professional Makeup Pore Filler* on my night out on Saturday. I actually have quite large pores on my cheeks close to my nose and I was a little skeptical that this would actually diminish them, but my skin felt softer and I could barely see any different textures. I don't usually like a silicone based primer, but this didn't effect my makeup from shifting at all, and my makeup really did last throughout the evening.

The NYX Professional Makeup Shine Killer*  is one that I'm going to pass along to my mum. As someone with very very dry skin, this won't work for me and a matte base is sadly my worst enemy. I'll definitely keep you posted once my mum has given this a go though as someone with oily skin, this could definitely be a winner for her!
