Having Some 'Me' Time

It's very important every now and again to give yourself a bit of 'me' time. Over the past couple of months I've really appreciated weekends where I can be that little bit more selfish, and just focus on myself rather than work. Especially now that we've slowly entered Autumn, its the perfect time to treat yourself that little bit more and cozy down.

Treat Yourself to a Massage or Manicure -  Trust me, I live in London so I know massages and manicures can be expensive but groupon and virgin experience do some amazing deals out there. My flatmate and I went and booked ourselves into a massage and honestly it was everything I needed. They relieve all your aches, pains and the stress that has been building up in your muscles, and you come out less tense. If you can't afford a massage or manicure, treat yourself to a nice relaxing bath at home and really give your nails that full treatment (I'm talking cuticle oil and everything!)

Favourite Film Marathons - I love going to the movies but I have to say there is something great about just festering on your sofa for the afternoon and putting on your favourite movies for the delay. If you want an afternoon by yourself, you can just draw the curtains or if you want your friends over, have a marathon with them. Harry Potter will forever be some of my favourite movies, and I know that they can automatically make me feel cozy and snug. If I'm looking for something a bit more on the comedy side, Bridget Jones never fails to make me laugh.

Go For A Walk - I grew up in the country side in Switzerland so most afternoons on the weekend would consist of me and my mum going on a walk. I personally find fresh air really calming and being out in nature really helps me relax. Although nature is pretty darn hard to find in London, visiting a park is a great way to start, or even getting out of the city for a little bit.

Baking - Personally I find baking very therapeutic. When I was at university and I would have exams or coursework deadlines looming I would continuously bake anything and everything. Not only does it give you a little sense of achievement, there is nothing better than winding down at 3.30pm with a hot cup of tea and newly baked goods. 1. I definitely agree that having a massage is amazing. Mine comes as part of my physio, so probably a bit more painful & less relaxing than a regular massage but still makes me feel so much better.

  3. A cosy day in watching movies is one of my favourite ways to unwind, especially at this time of year. I've made my way through a fair bit of Disney over the last couple of weekends!

  5. I've actually never had a proper massage (I know!) but I'd really want to give it a try. Especially now that I'm getting a bit older and starting to get all of these aches and pains that weren't there before :'D

  6. I really want to get back into baking, I used to do it all the time whereas I never do anymore. Going to change that for sure as I found it relaxing too!
